Hmm Tom Scholz[I loved the Hammond "riffed song"poss. best recorded LP/SPLead "singing tone",but about a certain "Bliss" named bands 1st MEGA hit single's Riff being like Boston's"More than a feeling"???? Umm?

I don't think so nearly as much..............as you obviously all agree on!,but That "TEEN SPIREET" riff sounds more like a riiff, from some ole buds o mine["Yiz Garn Off"?],here in oz called "The Celibate Rifles"[sex pstola opposita] from a song called "Electrovision Mantra"[obviously the 4 chord part later in "TV song"umm........I mean "Electro V Mantra",I'll be spanked on for this[poss?],but a decent bunch of Seattle Originals, really dug Aussie independent bands[pre 89] like the Rifles-1980ish - still gigging occasionally, and toured Europe..Roskilde,US CBGB's["Kiss Bang Bang-Live Album ],and Lot's of others-Cosmic Psycho's-"I wanna be like David Lee Roth so da da da da can all su** m* of*"-chorus of very classic Psychos song, plus too many to mention all of the others-"Lime Spiders",etc etc etc Tex Perkins-Mick Jagger of tough as "Gut's n Gru-R n R"...nuff sed.

Don't believe?.....ask em,though their sworn to sec. and 2b nice "bout it all".

Yeah,I was very miffed after buying into the big overseas postage[boxed dvd rom] for the now "idle",and unsellable X1 studio X1 Producer,but especially X2[loving X3 ATM-when "tis not weird"-do not really need or want/afford mac/X4   yet],though I"should'ave known better",even if I'm a VERY late starter in digital,and I"got hit,"And We e e Dy Youn ".

Bob,

Maybe a bit too much of the schnapps is not a good thing before posting?

So that's sorted then. Buckingham palace is about 30 mins away from me, I'll kidnap her, send her on plane to the USA by FedEx. Cake can then oversee that she gets coding. I will keep one of her corgis in case she gets any funny ideas...

I'm afraid you'll need the TARDIS to catch up to Queen Elizabeth I. The current queen is the second of the name.

Dean L. Surkin - Steinway A (1902, rebuilt 1988), Kawai MP8, Yamaha KX-76; Intel i7-4770K, 32GB, RME AIO; HP ZR30w (great monitor!); Sonar Platinum, Garritan JABB3 and GPO4, VB3
One day, when I have the time, I will learn how to use all the features of Cakewalk 2.0. Oh, wait, Sonar 8.5. What did you say? Sonar version what?

How did you know that the TARDIS was the next SONAR?

Guys...

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the updates as free. I feel that when you buy a purchased upgrade you are paying for the new version in its current state as well as maintenance releases prior to the next paid upgrade... You are essentially paying for development for the period of that paid release...

With that thought you can see why it's sometimes "uncomfortable" when personally needed issues don't get handled. But they can't do everything and though they try, they can only get so much done while preparing the next major release (paid)... It's hard on both sides of the equation. Roland's influence aside, the Bakers have always been very good about this (I say while I sweat all the zoom issues I currently have with X3d)...

As I believe that it is currently impossible for anyone to have totally bug free software, I stick to the idea that I am paying for a year's worth of development and hope that my issues get attended to... If not, I hope they get treatment in the next paid version and sweat and scream in the meantime...

I'm sure many of you know me for complaining often and loudly about some issues... But overall I do and have always supported the Bakers and their' work... I've been with them since Cakewalk For Windows... ;-)

Just want to make an observation... look at the entry point costs of an alternate program like Ableton... they're huge, as are the costs to get to the next level.  I, a lowly bonified "poverty level" human have been able to upgrade from Sonar 5 or 6 thru X3, paying full-on upgrade prices, all along the way, to get to the point where I'm in a state of bliss these days (aside from an obnoxious load/crash situation which I do NOT blame the bakers for, as others don't have this issue)... Do I wish I would have saved money by waiting for an upgrade deal, like I've emailed my buds about?  Sure!  Do I wish I hadn't spent double what I can buy the vids for these days? Of course!  Am I angry at anyone/thing???  NO!!!!! If I could predict the future I'd have done things differently.  I can't...move on.

My best friend, who does Radio Ecoshock recently bought X3 studio per my strong endorsement, then upgraded to Pro when the sale happened awhile back...having started with mixmaster.  He has since moved on to Ableton, as it is more his "thing".  He's poor/frugal like me... is he pissed at me?  NO! He acknowledges it just didn't fit with him and he coulda/shoulda/woulda benifited from the demo.  Is he angry at Cakewalk? The Bakers? No!  He admires what I'm doing with X3...

So many stay stuck and suffer needlessly...

I have no complaints... I'm not whining about abandonment... I am  happy things have improved... and eagerly await the future...(not in climate realms... that's gonna suck...)

I strongly agree with Keni. I also believe X2 failed when it came to service releases so I'm expecting a lot more with X3, and to be honest there are a number of major issues that need attending to. We can still use Sonar fine but there's a lot of things that are broken. I'm happy to remain patient whilst these things are fixed now Cake are under new management. So far so good but I wish there was more communication, recently there has been some difficulty (just my perception) which maybe shows symptoms of strain, and the support infructure is not optimal. Hopefully a hurdle that will be overcome as it's much easier to swim with the tide than against. I shall try and remain positive, however I think this is a very difficult and fraustrating interim period either side of the fence and will remain that way until X4 at least.

Hi Alex... I think the number of releases, the increased personal contact, and even an announcement of a ball-park time to expect the update speaks louder than any of our words...

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. While we all know we need to make money to live, these guys use the software they create too! So they want to fix and improve it as well... I'm hoping that Roland's sales model was the reason for the strain and that it was as hard on them as it was us...

I want to believe!

I know that with all my complaints I've always managed to get my work done. They have never released a version that I couldn't get things done... Tho with some screaming at times... ;-)

So I sit and wait with great hopes for the X3e to address my personal issues as well as those of others....

I agree.. AND that is why I am here with Sonar.. I left Cubase SX3 for that exact reason. Steinberg dropped support COMPLETELY for Cubase SX3 DURING ITS product cycle.. "in order to focus all available resources on the upcoming Cubase 4 and 64 bit implementation."

And that's when I left...  Been HAPPY ever since. =)

TremoJem
Am I missing something?

If you release a "version". It should work completely. All issues and bugs fixed!

You don't just release another version and expect users to upgrade and pay for a "fix".

For "new" features, yes!

For bug fixes, no.

Oh well, I am really green, so unless I have some real problems with my X3d I wouldn't know if it was me or the SW...LOL.

That is kinda sad really, but at least I am honest.
