Bummer about the rootkit, I have Farcry, it just so good in 3D, leaves and mosquitoes come right out of the screen. I haven't kept up with the newer games, but I still play BF2, Half-Life2, Oblivion, The Godfather, all the Star Trek and Star Wars games, Comanche4. I don't play very often but when I go on a binge and I don't even want to get up to go to the bathroom..I've been considering getting a bed pan for just such occasions. I use the Iz3D stereoscopic monitor and Z800 for real 3D viewing. If you want to get rid of a girlfriend, just let her come home and catch you with one of these on your head just sayin BTW Bitflipper finally got Avatar in 3D, best 3D movie ever.

I used to run a Quake III railgun server. It was quite a blast and I had friends from all over the world playing there. Just got to be too much hassle with the cheaters and hackers so I shut it down and started concentrating on music.

Loved the Duke Nukem series (even from the beginning roots as Commander Keen!). I'm waiting to see if Half-Life III (actually the third episode of II?) gets finished...

@bitflipper NO I DON'T? It's not that dangerous though? Or is it? Oh well, it's installed here on my laptop. Better be this than my DAW with a rootkit. Only got to play Far Cry on computer shops! The DN release would be on PC or on the consoles? I loved the Duke Nukem series on the PS1, although i was banned by my parents to actually play the single player mode due to the inappopriate scenes. (I was a little tyke went i got to play it) @Ohgrant I loved Oblivion! I actually quit it because i had no more time for music, i got extremely addicted. Then i switched to Fallout and experienced the same neglect for music, though my PC crashed. Maybe God called Satan to crash my hard disk and get me back to making music. Is that a VR goggle?

Used to be a keen gamer, but after a spate of duff games last year I'm a bit jaded. Bioshock 2 is extremely broken (the forums are a bit like the X1 forum here), Fallout 3 didn't get past the first video, Civilization IV and Assassins Creed both had corrupt cab files. Zilch response from the respective companies support. These are all PC versions of the game. Currently going through Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars for about the fifth time. Then after that probably give Dead Space another run through. Avoiding DS 2 though after the hassles with all the big titles listed above.

I'm waiting to see if Half-Life III (actually the third episode of II?) gets finished... Whats the latest on that? I thought it was supposed to be released a year ago. A mate of mine, who works for a large game producer, reckons they're going to release a full blown game instead.

Then i switched to Fallout and experienced the same neglect for music, though my PC crashed. Maybe God called Satan to crash my hard disk and get me back to making music. Is that a VR goggle? I was the same way with Oblivion, The Godfather, and Vampire the Masquerade. Nothing was getting done in my real world so they all sit on my HD only played about half way through. I quit buying RPG's too addictive. When I get in the mood to game anymore I just put on a FPS games like Painkiller, BF2 or Farcry 1&2. My biggest thrill is flight sims though, I have an old microsoft forcefeedback flightstick and love to spend hours protecting Strummy and Jon from those mean old nazi's in MS combat flight sim. Yes that is a VR headset, it's the Z800 HMD, I picked it up from ebay several years ago. It has a head tracker and full stereoscopic viewing, but I wouldn't recommend getting one now because they are no longer supported by nVidia stereo driver now that nVidia has their own 3D system their selling. The old driver covers most games out now but no support for future games. All this talk of gaming got me wanting to do some so I think I'm going to kill me some nazi's today...just seems like the right thing to do.

@Joakes Crysis 2 is NICE! @ohgrant Umm, can i ask how much? And, doesn't it screw up your eyes? You know, like an HD screen directly on your face.

I wish I had time for more of this. In the summer months when the pace of life drops a bit, I spend a lot of my late-night time on Flight Simulator X. It'll be a while before I can get to the other stuff.

@ohgrant Umm, can i ask how much? And, doesn't it screw up your eyes? You know, like an HD screen directly on your face. Well the Z800 is not getting any cheaper and also getting harder to find I'm afraid. Z800 With the old nVidia stereo driver you can play most games directX 5 and above and most opengl games. They don't cause eye strain at all because each eye has a separate unique picture unfiltered by glasses. The picture when wearing it is kind of like sitting center seat in a theater. Down side is it's limited to 800x600 resolution not such a big issue with older games but there are many newer games that go no lower than 1024x768. So it's pretty much obsolete. For someone just getting into 3d I would have to recommend the IZ3D 22inch They have their own game driver for directx 8 and above. But I wouldn't take my word for it, there are new 3D monitors coming out all the time now. If you're interested in checking out 3D, you may want to check out here> MTBS forum for updated info.

Call of Duty Black Ops Battlefield Bad Co. and 2 (have pre-ordered 3) Crysis 2 (Just finished campaign tonight) My son likes to spend all his time in multiplayer...I only do the campaigns. Though 3D is nice, the price for the video monitors, video card and glasses just wasn't worth it in my opinion. I hope to be able to watch Avatar on my Nvida setup. edited for spelling/grammar

We probably crossed paths if you played on the A51 servers. I still have an "InstaGib" server going on my local network (linux box) and play the odd game once in a while. Goosing it up while applying a little love glove here and there. Those were the gaming days. Nothing like it. Before the cheating mayhem. And I was notorious for fraging anything that wasn't me.

I used to play Quake I at quake.nac.net. It was a popular server on the east coast. I played there so much they asked me to be an admin. I went by [LEATHERFACE]. I was on dial up at the time but I had a really low ping and was pretty much unbeatable except when one of the admin got on the server and had a 0 ~ 3 ping.
