Sonar issue as it's replicable with other plugins such as gtr rig. Song with multi tempos, plugin Guitar Rig and click the metronome tab in gtr rig to see the metronome. unmute it, it should already be syncd to tempo, but if not tell it external. Here the metronome follow your tempo changes, it's good. Now with fast bounce enabled, hit freeze then listen back and notice the metronome (in Gtr rig) bounced with only the 1st tempo in the list. This has been a quick way to fastbounce a click for clients. You can watch the GUI and notice the tempo staying the same. un-check fastbounce and it's fine, just really slow realtime.

can anyone explain this "Waveshell" thingy!  I mean in Cakewalks plugin manager there are 100's of plugs after install and none are alphabetised into something that would be easy to pick out in the list between your other VST's.

I'm still testing a dummy win64 X1-64bit setup and various plugins but i'm not sure of the waves install.  I have 2 versions of each plugin.  Example:

CLA 2A
CLA 2A
CLA 2A (0)

I know 1 is 64bit and 1 is 32 but but wheres the other one come from?

Exclude all the waveshell versions and use the vst ones ...

Vocal rider: time saver for what it's for... riding the vocal, which I've always been very meticulous about. It's easy to adjust the parameters to have the plugin ride the vocal much like I like to hear and would do. eg. I like to ride up the tails of words (and other parts of words) for breath, expression, diction or emphasis. I still adjust to taste(via normal Cake Volume Automation, or even VRiders Own automation data), Saves time though. It's like having a great engineer pre-setup your automation based on your instructions and then coming in for executive touch-ups and fixes. Less fatigue time on your ears for the tedious, saves more ears for the critical times.
without vst3 vocal rider has no sidechaining abilitys, therefor can not be used for what it was made for.
it doesnt ride the vocal.
its something waves really should have implimented (vst2.4)rather then making it only vst 3 for people like protools users.

Yes it DOES still ride the vocal, it just cannot compensate for the music via the side-chain. I ought to know, I've been using it and saving time with it. Would save even more time if the side chaining worked in VST 2.4 or Sonar added VST 3.

I upgraded the Musicians Bundle 1 to v9 and had issues using my system drive for the licensing, and after about a week of testing with Waves support decided to just use a thumbdrive.

I didn't notice any other issue until last week when I started getting   Blue Screen Error 0x3b SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION‎ on some projects. After narrowing it down to projects using Waves plugins I ended up removing and re-installing Waves v9 - but I installed the 32 bit version to a folder that is not scanned by Sonar X1 x64 - so far so good.

Not the most elegant fix I'm sure; it's a bandaid, but I am due for a hardware upgrade and I'll start everything on clean platters shortly.

I had no luck with V9. I went back to V8 just because I got tired of troubleshooting and I wanted to get back to making music. I went back and forth with Waves and Sonar tech support trying to get to the bottom of it. I updated my wup to get V9.
