Anyone manage to install Cakewalk Pro 3.01 to win 8 x64?

......... Nevertheless, the old Cakewalk Professional v3.01 runs just fine under Windows 3.x, Windows 9.x, and Windows XP, as well as the newer Windows Vista and Windows 7! :) ..............

I have it on pirate disk's but I have since burnt the evidence in case there are lawyers around, I was a pesky (mature?) student at the time. It's the only reason why I'm using Sonar nowadays so Cake got money off me in the end.

BTW I reported this to a moderator, Jimmy this isn't directed towards you, I absolutely know you had good intensions (and I stated so in the report), I don't think you've done anything wrong, I just though Cake should know about this just in case there's some issue about linking to this site (I know pot, kettle, black!!)

Interesting - its actually free...
Anyhow, quite a while back Twelve Tone Systems granted permission to freely distribute the full retail installation of Cakewalk Professional v3.01... which had a suggested retail price of $350 back in 1995!

So they say, it would be interesting if Cake would clarify status, I suspect though it's probably a Mexican standoff or something.... Who knows... I doubt Cake will comment or maybe they are consulting their lawyers right now. It is somewhat odd that they are allowing a third party website to distribute it whilst not distributing it themselves.

I'm more a Kombi person, although I do drive a Golf GTI (MKIV) but would love to own a working rust free MK1... The new MKVII looks the goods but while my MKIV is running well since 2003 (new)... not anytime soon going to upgrade ;)

The new ones have bad transmissions and used car dealers don't want them on their lots. I remember back in 69 or 70 they had a commercial advertising the only car still under $1000.
