And I say...   good!   Please do keep looking for additional revenue streams.   If that means A) Staying in business, and B) Not rushing the next paid version out the door over the summer (18 mos since X1), then I'm all for it.

I don't mind them looking to sell us more stuff...if it's good stuff.  hell, even if it's crap I'm not particularly bothered because , as John T said, that is what businesses do.  It is my prerogative not to buy what they attempt to sell.  Hopefully they will offer stuff worth buying.  Although i said hell no on paying them to critique my stuff.

I just took it. I don't think I mind a song having an unbiased critique if that would help make it better. Maybe...

I don't see a big advantage to having a lot more presets for the PC. But efx chains that they have already presented gave me a lot of ideas. So I wouldn't mind seeing more of those.

I liked most of the topics for new educational videos.

One thing is the revenue thing, the other is that the company that provide the tools I also make a living with ask us how they should prioritize their resources is a positive thing in my book, rather than dictating what I need.

    I appreciate that

unfortunetly though, the demo for x1 took some time before it was released,so how are you going to know its crap and not buy it?
im only hoping on further releases in the future the demos will be released a little sooner so i can get an idea of what im purchasing,i bought it based on advertisments and promptional videos only,it was very hard to make an opinion on based what the user base was saying at the time, some where loving it,no problems, some were saying it wasnt working,i was confused but because im a loyal cakewalk follower i bought it which goes to show some of us(maybe im speaking for just myself)will buy any daw cakewalk puts out because of the name and the work flow we are used to.in the case of x1,the work flow was changed, alot.it wasnt anything like 8.5 in my opinion.
so it being my choice to buy it,i wish i was presented with a demo first, but i was like a bunch of others,i wanted to start learning the new daw x1 as soon as possible.

I was kind of 'meh' on most of the questions, and clicked on the lower end of the scale for most. I'll leave new revenue stream targets for the newbies. I've got more presets, templates, samples and tutorial videos than I need and see no gaps likely to be filled with a new pay-for offering.

I did, however, in a moment of weakness, ask for a tutorial on using the broken Automation.

I did not take it as a bad thing.  I took it as simply a statement and a true one at that and made a comment on the subject.

Yup...I told em that what I'd like to see was a 24/7 "Doghouse Riley Pings Yor Sonar" channel.  You know, I'd have segments like "Don't Pester Wart Me, Will Ya??" and "How The Cow Ate The Cabbage"...and a problem solvin segment called "How The Hell Should I Know??"  There'd be other crap content and such but you git my drift.

I tend to always respond to surveys about the products I use and the company's I choose to do business with as I want them to know my feelings on directions taken and possibility for future products.

On the subject of future revenue streams - I'm all for them asking and I gave them honest answers about what and what I would not spend my hard earned money on.  If they don't ask and I don't answer I can't complain (about the change of course) when they suddenly start charging for something like effect presets which up to this point they have not, but I would imagine they are thinking about the possibility of "Artist Presets" by presenting the idea.  Which by the by, I'm not particularly interested in so I responded with my thoughts on it with an appropriate rating.  But as a general rule I like it when a company asks it's customers what might interest them but I'm not naive enough to think that all their other customers think like I do and if in the future they suddenly start charging for ProChannel Presets I'll loose no sleep.

I say keep asking, I'll keep giving you my thoughts.

    OK, I took it.

There were no 'C' choices though.

I had a whole lot of "N/A" and "Not Interested" though.

But I guess I'm at the "either I don't need it, or I want better, not more" stage.

I disagree. I see it as a company giving their customers a voice, to me that's a positive in business.

+1 Like I said, if a company takes the time to ask, I'll always answer.  I'd rather they seek out their customer bases input than just act in a vacuum. I'm also not naive enough to think that others may find use in products or features that I don't, so it's entirely possible I won't agree with a future direction that others responded positively to, But at least they asked and I answered.

Well, I would have taken it, but I can't get Cakewalk to add me to their email list.  I have contacted customer support many, many times.  Have written to various people and can't get them to add me even though I have been a customer since Pro Audio 7.
