So Eco is installed, BFD2 is installed, and Nick Mason drums are installed. Unfortunately, I'm missing various bits of each kit so I think I have a problem install. I just opened a ticket with fxpansion.
I'm really looking forward to digging into this! It is pretty daunting - compared to EZ Drummer or even Superior. :)

Cool, that's great news re BFD2, did you get the upgrade price ?
BFD2 should have 10 kits and I think Eco has three. The same kits that you have in Eco you will also have in BFD2 but in BFD2 they will be 24bit with the extra Amb3 (far room) channel and I think more velocity layers too so it's not worth adding you BFD Eco data paths in BFD2. You can however add your BFD2 data paths to BFD Eco but of course the BFD2 kits will be missing the Amb3 channel and extra velocity layers.
I don't know about the Nick mason kits but what other kits do you think are missing ?
What are your data paths ? The way I laid mine out (and I think it's the best way) is I created a folder called FXpansion on a dedicated drive for samples. In The fxpansion folder is a folder called, "BFD2" into which I installed all the audio/data for BFD2.
I also have BFD Eco inside the "FXpansion folder that has all the audio/data within.
Then I have created separate folders for all my expansion kits within the fxpansion folder so now I have 18 folders for all my expansion kits.
It does get a little complicated especially as some of the installers will also install the kits in the same folder as the audio/data.
This should be ok as long as BFD2's data paths are set up correctly but it's not where they should go.
They really should live in, "C:\Program Files (x86)\FXpansion\BFD2\System\Kits" If you search for them and they're in other locations I would move them to that location. Any time you move files you need to remember to either, "scan for new files" or better still, "trash & Rebuild databases" which is more thorough.

Also I forget to mention that groove3 have a 50% sale on at the moment until the end of the year and they have very good video's for both BFD Eco & BFD2. I have the BFD2 Explained one and found it very useful. There are couple of good mixing tutorials on youtube too. You can check out the groove3 ones here FXpansion Training Videos Steve

Hey Steve, I still can't get BFD2 to find my grooves on my other machine.
The DAW is fine, but the other one just doesn't want to know.
I do have a spare HDD lying around, so I might just install that, then reinstall all of my BFD software & add-on packs.
Or could I simply just re-install the program and move all the kits across afterwards?

Hi Jonesey Really strange one this. I saw that Drew had said your groove folder should be in D:\BFD2\Grooves and that's where they are. I have mine there but also had some in C:\Program Files (x86)\FXpansion\BFD2\Grooves but when I checked again I realised that I had installed a groovemonkey collection twice so I've deleted the ones on my C drive. Shows how often I use grooves  Are you running the most up to date version V.2.3.1.6 ? I'm a bit stumped to be honest but am wondering if rolling back to an earlier version might solve it (though I've no idea why) I would try reinstalling just the program first as it's a lot quicker and if you have any earlier versions maybe try those first then if that don't work try the other drive. The only other thing I'm wondering is what might be set up differently on this machine as opposed to the other ? Things like making sure hidden files are visible in the folder options and having full rights in your user account settings or something else. I'm clutching at straws here  Steve

Me too Steve - stumped that is.
I will attempt just reinstalling the program without any of the kits. That would take me a LONG time with all the expansions I own.
I used to always "roll my own" patterns when creating new projects, but I have found it's much easier (& quicker) to find something in a similar style and simply edit it to my liking from the grooves palette
