RockingChair Are you playing music and posting it only to try and get famous and rich? Bobby I did that a while years decades ago, but it was miserable, frustrating and infuriating. Now I write (I'm more a songwriter than a player) play and sing because I NEED to.

RockingChair Are you playing music only to try and get famous and rich? I suspect most people are not involved with music in order to get paid. But the their motivation rhymes with that.

I do music 'cause....lets face it, I got nowhere else to go. i could not do a real job, no one would have me. They have tried to make me quit, but like Richard Gere in "Officer and a Gentleman". No, No Sir! I can't quit..I ain't got no where else to go!! that is why I play (work) music.

bapu Janet Yes, and beautiful and adored, too. Follow me Janet. I'll show you how it's done. I know where Jonbouy lives. Cool, I just went to the store and I can't find my way back.

Had my taste of fame (or at least a degree of notoriety...) years ago when I was working radio... just doesn't hold any attraction for me any more. Music... it helps say the things my soul can't put into words. Money? I've heard of it...

I've never been into making music for fame or fortune. Well, when I was younger, yeah, I wanted to be Elvis so to speak, but now I'm 42 and Elvis died at 42 so I don't wanna be Elvis anymore!!!! Thank you very MUCH!!! Please don't get the wrong opinion about my question, I was just asking what you really intended to do with your music?. Not your status or none of that overrated social BS. LOL, SOCIAL MEDIA what a bunch of BS! "JUST DON'T SAY NOTHING" social media problem solved. Thanks for all the replies, "There is no reason for someone to tweet, or fart or send the world a message". It is so sad that someone seems to think or be put in a position that they need a "SOCIAL MEDIA STATUS". "Whatever happened to : It's ok to be yourself??????". Just my opinion, Bobby

I would like to be just cool enough to get invited on the Colbert Report, but not cool enough to be invited to the MTV Awards. As far as rich goes, I'd be happy enough if music equipment companies would give me their products in exchange for my endorsement - that alone would save me six figures per year (and by "figures" I mean $1000).
