Audio Deluxe question

I'm thinking of taking up the lifetime updates offer, I know I've left it a little late!

If I buy from Audio Deluxe will it be an instant automatic email code that I can then redeem? If not, I can order from the Bakers direct but AD will be cheaper for me.

Any downside to ordering from Audio Deluxe (e.g. time limited download links) or upside to ordering from the Cakewalk Store?

I'm a little wary of ordering from third parties as a previous third party order resulted in me receiving a code for Studio instead of Producer (or something like that), although it was eventually sorted out (it was some kind of glitch). I wouldn't want to miss the deadline. I've never ordered from Audio Deluxe before, so don't know what to expect.

I'm in the UK, in case that makes a difference.

Thanks!

They generally aren't instant from AudioDeluxe or JRR. I don't know how Cakewalk is handling lifetime updates purchased before the deadline but not redeemed until after. Without knowing that, you may be better off buying direct from Cakewalk.

Call AudioDeluxe?
You should get an email pretty quickly from most distributors. In the event you do not receive the email code soon enough, you should get a copy of a receipt showing that you purchased it before the deadline that you might be able to use to get a real person at Cakewalk to authorize the update after the fact. The distributors are not downloading the actual program, they just send a code that you can enter at your Cakewalk account so the quality of their download servers is irrelevant.

The upside the Cakewalk store is that you will get a calculation based on your account history that will confirm you are eligible at the price you pay, and the registration of the transaction is immediate.

They are not automatic, but they are fairly quick in my experience (each purchase same day when ordering at reasonable hours).  I'd agree with calling them if you can (I see you are from the UK, and they are in the US in Tennessee) since there is a deadline and you have to enter that code in the cake site, as Cake has zero knowledge of the purchase until you do.

However, since you cut it down the the wire, the only safe option is probably straight from Cake, at a higher price.

The deadline is for purchasing lifetime updates not registering it. I see no reason why you can't purchase lifetime updates today and register it later.

This is the reason you can't rely on that logic:

Can I purchase lifetime updates from a retailer?
Yes! Any new purchase of SONAR Platinum from a retailer during the time period of June 1st - August 31st, 2016 will qualify for lifetime updates. If you are upgrading, be sure that you’re adding SONAR Platinum to your cart with the option of Lifetime Updates. Please make sure you redeem your code before the offer expires.

Now they might throw you a bone and be nice about it, but you are asking them to go above an beyond if you do.

Timing it so late, I wouldn't want to risk placing an order with a third party vendor only to have them contact me tomorrow saying that they're unable to fulfill my order for some reason. Nor would I want to be in a situation where I had to rely on emails / support etc. to fix things in my account (been there, done that, life's too short).

Thanks guys, I have upgraded through the Cakewalk Store and am now a fully paid up lifetime member! ;)

Thanks for the clarification, on one hand it states " Any new purchase of SONAR Platinum from a retailer during the time period of June 1st - August 31st, 2016 will qualify for lifetime updates." Then it's taken away if you don't register it by the end of the time period: Please make sure you redeem your code before the offer expires.

I would have never guessed that. At least they said please. I'm glad the OP made it in under the deadline.
