Hey Scot, I can appreciate the skill but I don't know I am not feeling it. Ava Maria is one of those big tunes, I think you are suppose to feel it and I think thats why the vocal line or the main melody needs to be sung. But as I say wow on the playing, I think I am being a little grumpy today, please keep these excellcent tunes coming. The song forum is alive and well and producing some excellent stuff as always. Peace Ben

Hey-a Benny Boy! Thanks for giving it a spin. Sorry you couldn't feel it, but as you said, maybe you're just grumpy.

Yes, here's an example of what I'm looking for; pay particular attention to the aborginal percussion requirement. (the youtube quote is a bit blue, but you can put in "walk hard" and "band quits")

Wow. My name in lights.......... Hey Scotty. This is great. The singular violin gives it the sensitivity it was grasping for. wonderful. If'n it was me, and I'm kinda scared to say, cause then my name might not be in lights anymore, um, I'd bring the violin down (or piano up) a bit. And, since you got the other parts, maybe slowly bring em in towards the last 1/3 of the piece. Just sayin. Thanks for makin me think I'm important or somethin....:)

It's just fun to play a listen to a simple melody that needs no embellishment. I'm glad there are still lovers of melody in this world. Thank you! Daryl

In the far distant future when you and your Sister are given your wings, the Celestial Orchestra will greet you with open arms. An absolutely stunning rendition of a timeless classic that you both perform to perfection. I have not heard better.

This song is like a good woman, it keeps getting better with age... So it starts, as one now, and then divides and conquers? I like it, "perfect." Few people can appreciate your excellence as do I, bravo.

Really nice job Scotty...as usual. I heard the first mix but didn't get a chance to comment. This one is definitely better all across the board in my opinion. You and your sister make an awesome team....really loved this! I wish my mom was still around to hear it as she loved the original version. I think she would have loved this also. Great job brother! :) -Danny

A third mix requires a comment. Nice, best mix I have heard on this (I did listen to the second mix).

That's quite the visual, Robby! Give me some mixing advice and I'll be happy to try it. (Forget about the percussion)

I like to tell people I know, "I'm the most talented person you know..." I can't tell people that who know you :-( And it pisses me off just a little. It's like playing in the NBA and being assigned to block Jabar's sky hook? It ain't happening... And it's somewhat demoralizing "THANK YOU VERY MUCH!" I blame you and I'm holding you "personally responsible."

They say you cannot improve on perfection. But you have! Mix III is wonderful. I understand those who say this piece needs vocals - but I must beg to differ. The Violin sings with more soul than any vocalist could ever achieve.
