Glad to hear it Starise I guess they called it Eco on account of it having a smaller footprint than it's big brother, its samples are 16 bit as opposed to BFD2's 24bit and it has less kits so it is reduced in that sense. There are quite a few other other features that BFD2 has that until you really get stuck into the program might not be so obvious at first. I do agree though, it might have been more accurate to have named them BFD & BFD pro but the fact is BFD2 had been around a good few years before the introduction of Eco. There was a forerunner to Eco called BFD Lite but I think it only ever came as something bundled with other products. If you compare the differences between EZdrummer and Superior Drummer to those between Eco and BFD2 then I really don't think Eco is that far behind Superior Drummer to be honest and way ahead of EZdrummer. In some ways I would say it is better than Superior Drummer, it has pretty much the same effects that ship with BFD2 and they are seriously good effects that would cost quite a bit if they were bundled separately and like BFD2 it is fully automatable within your host sequencer (Superior Drummer isn't) and to my ears of course, it sounds better too. I have both Eco and BFD2 so I already had the kit pieces that came with this update so I didn't see any reason to go for it at first. But then I read that all future development of Eco would be for 64 users only I decided I might as well buy it at the current price rather than wait for it to go up and then wish I'd got it. It's not until you get really get deep in to BFD2 though that you start to see just how good it is and as good as Eco is I would recommend upgrading to BFD2 even if you think it's more than you need. FXpansion posted this video Video on their facebook page yesterday, everything you hear in this piece is BFD2, and all mixed internally, there is only one external effect which is logic tape delay and a korg station controller to do some pitch bend amongst other things. Not my kind of music but amazing sounds none the less. Steve

I was unknowingly fortunate that floridamusicco.com took a while to ship my copy of ECO, so I ended up registering after the Jan 1st deadline and was able to download the update for free. I really liked ECO, but it didn't play well with bitbridge and would crash X1. I was thinking of trying Jbridge, but was stoked to see 64bit support in the update. Now it's performing without a hiccup. Great software. Probably the best deal I got last year. (The Nomad Mastering Tools were a steal too... Thanks for whoever found those deals and posted them.) I would love it if Session Drummer had the flexibility of ECO. I love being able to readily adjust the room and overhead settings. The samples are way better than expected as well. When I bought it I was expecting another session drummer (which I also like), but ECO is solid and stands on its own. Might have to look at BFD2... Highly recommended. Vernon

Well, I bought the upgrade but it only seems to want to install the 32 bit version, in fact I only seem to get the option to install the 32 bit. I wonder if this is my fault for not reading the fine print - Vista is no longer supported.

**** really sorry to hear that. Actually I did know that vista was no longer supported but I didn't think that would mean you couldn't install it in 64 bit? I just figured it would at least install but you might run in to problems. I would contact support and see if they can at least get it to install properly. I've seen so many post lately on the fxpansion forum with people having install problems and quite a few of them having being saying they could only find the 32 version though I don't think they were all on Vista so that might give you some hope? Support simply confirmed that Vista is not supported. I also see that the latest BFD2 is Win 7 only, so, reluctantly, FXpansion joins NI as a company that will not be fueling my G.A.S. until I am ready to replace my DAW (or forced into a Win 7 upgrade on my current DAW). The 32 bit verson of Eco upgraded OK and continues to function in Sonar using JBridge.

I have been running both BFD eco 64 bit and BFD 2 with the 64 bit "beta" plug in and have had zero problems.

pathos Why not upgrade & use Win7? Time, really. I have a really stable system the works well, 64 Bit Eco is the first program that simply refuses to install. The NI stuff is not supported but the players work fine. I just won't be up grading to Kontakt 5 until I am ready to, or forced into spending days upgrading and reloading my DAW. Ideally I will wait until I am ready to replace the DAW and do it in one foul swoop. Also its 150 pounds I do not feel inclined to spend at this stage in the life cycle of my computer.

With Win 8 coming out maybe you'll be able to find a good deal on Win 7, or wait & get a new DAW with Win8.

£58 Here for home premium. I think the only major difference that's of concern to musicians and non business people between premium and pro is that premium has a limit of 24GB RAM whereas pro is something like 168GB but it's be a while before I can see myself needing more than 24GB. Wanting more is another thing though Steve
