That's what I heard.  I'm not sure how it was even possible to go anywhere w/o 4 wheel drive anyway.  Just glad I don't need to go anywhere for awhile.

If you have a 4 wheel drive.... it's a case of.... they gotta catch you first.

They were ticketing people that were on the roads in the neighboring town yesterday.  I guess they didn't want 'em out there...

Bit, have fun for us...

just for being on the road?
Up here, if you are out in a "no travel" situation, you're liable for arrest, particularly if you've avoided a barricade or gate to do it.  If they have to rescue you in the process of arresting you, you'll be billed for the total expense of the rescue.  It can easily clear $100k when you add up equipment, time, fuel, and all of the other expenses, sometimes more.  There were some folks out in the Nebraska panhandle a few years back who had to be rescued from their own (lack of mental prowess) and lost a house over it - something like $250,000 in fees and fines.

So, it's best to stay home, grab a cup of cocoa or something, fire up the Sonah, and relax.

so you're saying it's better to be "all crash in the loudspeaker" instead of "all crash in the snow?"

I'm glad to hear that.  My son was all up in arms cause they were fining people.  But I had the feeling they had said 'stay off the road and we mean it' and they did.  I sorta saw it from their perspective, like you said...it just wastes their time and effort trying to rescue people.

Of course, it's easy for me to say, since there's no way we can even get up to the highway yet  (1 mile up a winding road).   LOL  Well, maybe with a 4X4 today... but yesterday?  No way!!
