1) is not a problem
2) run the X2 installer, take the advanced install option and choose the Minimal installation option from the drop dropdown

3) then install BandLab Assistant and CbB

This thread has me missing v-vocal again. Still using final version of Splat. Any thoughts on 1)wisdom of trying to install v-vocal from X2 onto a system w/Splat? 2) suggestions for how to go about doing this? Thinking i might like to have v-vocal working, warts and all, before installing CWBL. (I lost v-vocal at some point when I built a new DAW. I have Melodyne studio and it’s great, but like others here, I recall that v-vocal had some special sauce of its own). Thx!

If I recall you need to go back to Sonar 8.5 to get V-Vocal, possibly X2 will have it. You should be able to download your old files if you haven't saved them. In general to have all the plugins and softsynths you should install every version of Sonar and SPlat that yo have. This won't mess up your current Splat.

CbB has stripped down FX and plugins, but will recognize everything that you have in Splat, so moving to CbB is very easy. It doesn't alter your Splat at all. In fact you can even have both programs running at the same time,, which is sometimes good for comparison purposes.
