I believe it was covered here several hundred pages ago, and though the distillery part is also correct, an alembic is a vessel used to purify things.

A nap now is almost impossible. I need my bedroom window open to keep it cool in here, but there are construction workers making an unbelievable racket next door (the house had caught fire right before I moved here so they've been demolishing 2/3's of it and rebuilding ever since I moved in). Between the hammering and pneumatic gun there's little chance of a quiet sleep. Oh yeah, they also have music playing very loudly and, while I was typing, I just had to suffer through this at high volume: Really???
