Ken, what are some of the styles/instruments you usually prefer to play/record?

I try to do a little of everything style wise. From classical to black metal
I try to play guitar and bass (with guitar as my main instrument) Other instruments, I play is just poorly

Nice!!
I also like a variety of music.....as long as it's melodic. The classically based rock/metal musicians (especially guitarists) have a knack for very interesting music.....which I like. For us, that's the great thing about doing music on a DAW......you can mix soooo many different genre's and incorporate them into your own style.

Excellent Ken!! Looking forward to hearing it. I've also been wanting to post something I did a few years back, but still needs some work.....being an amateur/hobbyist, I need all the help I can get.
 
If you have any material you'd like to collaborate on, would love to hear it and (if you'd like) even possibly throw a few notes here & there on it.  

What plans for this fine weekend?
I have some studying to do (work related exam) . Hopefully, will get to spend some time on the DAW if all goes well.
I have a case of various Mexican Lagers just waiting to be had....Beer O'clock come this evening!!!

The rest of the weekend is planned to take place more or less in the studio. 
I am getting a new room in the next couple of months 
Our oldest son is leaving for university, and I'll get to use his room as my studio  Both proud and sad..
It is not a big room, but at least three times bigger than I have now

Yeah, I can imagine going through some mixed emotions.....leaving the nest to start life's journey. I'm hoping my children (when the time comes) will go to a Uni close to home, and still live at home.
 
On the plus side, your studio expands and now you'll just have to buy more gear....uhm beer......I mean BOTH!!.

Welcome back!!! It's almost Beer O'clock here.....2 hrs to go.
 
What are you guys rehearsing for? Gigs? Studio work? Multiplatinum Sonar work?

We're rehearsing for some local / regional gigs I try to not wear my "engineer" hat in that band. I have given some advice, but stay away as much as I can. The guitarist and vocalist does the writing and recording.
The guitarist / composer is a SONAR user (X2), so I can chime in with some useful tips at times (he loves to do things as he has always have done, and dislikes shortcuts / keystrokes)

We play some sort of rock / blues in the band I play drums in.
