Since we're on Tech Talk.......I just upgraded to Win 10 last night......went smooth as silk and it does look a bit more crispier and snappier as well.....just like my Becan.

I just upgraded to Win 10 last night...

Yeah, that's what I've bought those SSD's for... I also bought a caddy that comes with Acronis, so I may well need some help with that, although I guess that the process is pretty painless...

It was painless, but when doing any major changes (on a working system), it's always a bit worrisome. I made sure I did a backup of my OS drive just before upgrading.......which reassured me (in case something went wrong). 

Well I'll be backing up my current system drive on my lappy, which is currently on Windows 8.
 
Then I'll have to look for the 8.1 upgrade before I can upgrade to 10.
 
So it's going to take some time to get to 10 I guess.
 
SSD's are supposed to arrive for tomorrow some time...

I'm also in the same boat for our family PC (Win 8) and just told the Mrs. to look for the 8.1 update. It's my first DAW build back in 2007 and the only two components I had to replace were 1 memory stick & the graphics card. It's been through a lot and the 4GB RAM limitation on Win 8 is causing it to slow down. I'm hoping Win 10 will give it some life......until I can buy a new PC.
 
Those SSD's will make a HUGE difference in your system......I only have one for my OS drive, but I'd love to have one for my samples drive.....you lucky bugger!! :))

I'll then have a total of three SSD's spare, once I know that everything has upgraded okay (128, 240 and 256gb), so I'm probably going to stick each of them in a caddy as backup drives. I've offered them to my missus to use in her desktop, but I've been told to leave that alone LOL...
 
I still have Ubuntu on the 128gb drive, but I doubt if I will ever go back to that.
 
One great thing about my current lappy is, it is an absolute breeze to swap out drives... Even easier than my old desktop that had pull out jobbies.

I'd avoid trying to clone your disk, you'll need to buy larger underwear.
