I am working nights this weekend, and want my beers be(er)fore it starts
I have been having a lot of second doubts about my mixing decisions lately (as well as earlier). Just got EZDrummer, and been trying to redo my drums, as a continuum of a never ending story. I really do not want (and never have been able) to publicly show my songs before I feel remotely confident that I have something to show (and I seldom do)
But thanks for the thoughts

No worries Ken, I'm sure you're being a bit hard on yourself and your mixes probably sound very good. Although I haven't posted anything lately, I know I'm just an amateur/hobbyist that's open to all/any good advice I can get. For me, there's really nothing to lose and a lot to gain from everyone.
 
My problem is lack of (quality) time to spend at the DAW......by the time the children go to bed, I'm a bit too tired to be creative/inspired (unless, Mr. Hennessy offer to help). :)

My wife keeps telling me that I need to share my music, and that nobody will hear what I hear. But it is an uphill battle Maybe I need to focus on one genre, instead of "all" at once

Ps. I should probably not use the reference tracks I do, as I am ALWAYS let down by comparison with my own

Lol....I have a similar problem. I like rock/disco/electronic/blues/heavy metal/funk/reggae/latin/classical........just not all at once. I figure (being a guitarist), best is to stay with what you do best without a lot of effort.......(play air guitar )......I mean rock and build up on that.

Just go with what sounds good to your ears. The fine tuning of stuff that you might miss, the others in here will chip in on that.

I probably have at least 10 - 15 (20 - 30) songs in the making / almost finished, but stumble at every attempt at finishing them..
I will get better at some point My dreams of being a "good" guitarist went out he window a looong time ago

I know what you mean.....as I got older, my playing skills just diminished (lack of practice etc....) and now, I have to make the best possible "noise", with the little talent that's left.......a very good example where "less is more".

They double booked at my job, so someone had to go home..
It suddenly became beer o'clock for me today as well
