Best plugins to buy? Where is that great thread????????

I have searched and searched and searched on this ridiculously bad search engine (the forum's great; the search engine is useless), but I cannot find the thread from a few months ago where many of you recommended the very best plugins to have--like Slate VCC, Omnisphere, Trillan, Superior Drummer, Fabfilter, Waves etc. etc......

I do not want to reinvent the wheel here and start yet another redundant thread.  So, can someone provide a link to that great, very, very helpful thread about great plugins to put on your "to buy" list?

Thanks

Cecelius2

I really like REFX Nexus 2.   It doesn't have the sound design possiblities of some, but it has a TON of really great sounds that just make me want to make music.

I just found this thread, but I think there was a more recent thread in which members here recommended their best-of-the-best, must have, go to ...... stuff,

BigBen:  You as "Is there anything in particular you're looking for?"   Not really!  I just want to focus my future purchases on highly recommended vsts.  When Christmas or a birthday arrives, then I know what to ask for from Santa.

I'm demo'ing SSL Duende native these days. These rank very high on my list (particularly the EQ . A bit expensive though. FabFilter's Pro-Q and Pro-C are also potentially on my wishlist.

It was interesting to see what I'd written in that thread just 8 months ago, comparing it to what I would have listed today.

Funny how at any point in time I've been pretty sure I had everything I needed - but if that had ever been true, then why have I kept buying more stuff?

I blame it on yorolpal. He's a bad influence.

It's like that with Rhino now. If I bought that then I'd end up buying hippopotamus, okapi and three-toed sloth Vsts.

ol' pal, have you acquired the new MeldaProductions dynamic equalizer yet? It's friggin' killer. It's also a rabbit hole you can fall into and not climb out of for a few days.

So bitblipper, you seem pretty sold on this MAutoDynamicEq; what are you thoughts about other MeldaProduction vsts in general.  I vaguely recall that on a different thread you have recommended a few of their freebie vsts, are there any other MeldaProduction regular plugins or bundles worth a closer gaze?  They are so very reasonably priced; any other Meldaproduction vsts catching your eye?

I like the free MCompressor for a basic compressor that has a nice graphical view and variable RMS window. A quite useable freebie, even if not particularly unique.

The free MLimiter, OTOH, is unusual, in that it gives you control over the harmonics you inject. I don't know of any other limiter that offers that directly. I have used it as a harmonic exciter on vocals.

Although I have demoed all of them, I have not been able to afford the non-free MeldaProduction products until now, which is why I'm so high on the introductory pricing. $27 would normally fall into the audiomidi no-brainer category (although many of their "no-brainer" specials are aptly named, as in anybody with a brain would pass them up.)

Now, if money were no object the one MeldaProduction plugin I'd love to spend time with is the MAutoEqualizer product. The demo was a lot of fun, but at almost 300 bucks it's definitely beyond my budget.
