Best way to do a video capture of Sonar?

I've asked this before but couldn't get a good reply, so asking again...

Does anyone have recommendations for good video capture software while using Sonar? I'm trying to log a Sonar bug for a specific issue that requires video capture to explain properly. I tried CamStudio but it never seems to work properly. There are sound capture issues as well as issues preventing Sonar from working properly during the capture (audio engine disengages, glitches, etc).

Any recommendations based on good experiences you've had? I'm using Windows 8.1 and Sonar X3.

EDIT: I'm trying to demonstrate this issue. It is driving me nuts. I'm able to repro it with a few simple tracks using only the plugins that ship with Sonar.

CamStudio works for me without issues. Another good alternative has been VLZ Player. It takes very good screen captures.

If your sound doesn't capture with the screen, you can import your video into SONAR and record a dialog track after the screen capture if needed.

SONAR Platinum
RME Fireface UFX
Tascam US 20X20
Tascam US 16X08
Intel i7-5830K LGA2011V3 (6 CORE)
Asus X99-AII
Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB
Geeforce GTX 970 4GB

Some folks here use Camtasia: http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.html for videos. We have also had folks use http://www.screencast.com/ to report things as well.

I used Hypercam to do all my Advanced Workshop videos. It's free, too.

I've used Snagit by TechSmith. Granted it's not free.

Excellent, thanks for all the suggestions! There are quite a few options here.

I'm trying Debut with some success except for audio.

I use MS expression encoder as it is easy to use and fast and was built specifically for the os by the manufacturer of the os. I don't like too many 3rd party app installs on my machine.

Ah didn't know about that one. I tried the one that came with W8.1 but it kept crashing. But once I found and installed a newer build, it started working. It also captures the audio which was the main issue I had with the other ones I tried.

I have to agree it made me uncomfortable to install some of the other ones that required a reboot to make the audio work (which never worked anyway). Who knows what they insert into the audio path...

Now I just need to find the actual time to do it...
