soens, I really like your proposal. The only comment is that substituting Mains (shorter) for Hardware Outputs might be confusing but I like it. Wookiee Along with this I would like to see better use of the space above the Audio interface outs. Like perhaps a phase or correlation meter's, longer mains or other metering choice, K weighting, true dBFS etc.
Wookiee, I like that idea too. I'm always looking for metering plugin options mainly for the Master Output, but I've started using a dead end bus to provide easy setup of metering options for the schOPE and other metering. Having metering on the hardware outputs would be nice, and placing the metering in that blank space on the hardware outputs would be handy, though maybe a little awkward since the outputs are set up in the hardware interface control panel. I leave my Monitor Station metering set to +18 dBu because my audio interfaces have outputs that exceed the next lower option of +10 dBu. Along those same lines, it would be nice if offsets could be entered to display dBu and dB spl. The offsets would be somewhat arbitrary, but I try to use my Monitor Station metering and Radio Shack spl meter to keep all this in perspective, but being able to setup metering with the correct scales and with scale factors based on actual measurements would be helpful, I think. I just noticed my "Consolidated Meter Options" post has been removed from the forums. I found a link to it from another thread but it goes to a 404 Not Found page. Anyone know why? Should I repost it? It had a lot of positive feedback from users who liked the idea so just wondering.

Thanks Kev. I agree, notification should be protocol. Craig is looking into this though I can see why Cake would do so. They are very similar ideas even though his seems to cover all menus while mine is Meters specific. Post title is different which may confuse people. Along with that, it throws the voting numbers off. At least it wasn't deleted as I 1st thought.

Somebody messed up big time. I've been a big supporter of this and that's why I bumped it a couple days ago. The OP or a moderator must have changed the title. I see "consolidated meter options" as a title but when I try and view it this is where I end up. I don't think anyone from Cakewalk reads these ideas so likely not a big loss. I searched for a couple other meter related ideas I had previously posted and can't find them.

Same here, but Cake must read these posts as this is now the official feature request venue. The old request submit page is gone.

Well, if it's meter options we're pining about, I'd really like: User selectable colors for segmented meters, Three color K-meter ability, Crest factor, Anybody else want to pile on....

Soens the OP could edit the title of the first post or if everyone is happy I could change the title of the first post to indicate that this thread includes discussion on meter options?

Additionally I would like to be able to change meters RMS / Peak mode on the fly with a swipe or simple one click toggle on the channel strip.....(if it doesn't take up too much space)

Thanks for that. Meters are real important to me. My other feature requests have been wiped out by Cakewalk so this is our best hope for some attention. I don't know what drives change in the program but so far it isn't this forum.

Good Day, It would be nice if when selecting "options" in track and console views, particularly meter options in this case, that the menu doesn't totally close menu after selecting one certain option, perhaps reverting to menu item above and/or having a OK/close/save selection once done choosing various selected options, i.e., meter range, peak RMS, hold, lock, etc., and/or possibly a global setting for each meter type in preferences? Also a choice that meter type option choices could or not be synched between track and consoles views? Kind Regards

scook merged with existing meter request
Why? This request has already been merged with another at least once. Are you trying to torpedo my request scook? Of course not, but I don't know where the other meter request is. I've put in several request along these lines but they disappear or have been merged and I lost track of them. So where is this new thread that I'm supposed to support? Or is it one of my old threads?

If/and/when a feature becomes reality it would be cool for the OP to post it here in case someone misses the update.
