Better metering settings (menu improvements)

Look at the example in the picture.
If for example I want to change the Peak/RMS, dB range and Peak hold functionality of playback, recording and bus meters it's a real P.I.T.A. needing 36 "steps/clicks" to get there because the menu auto-collapses after each click/selection.
It would be far more relaxing if the menu stayes open and then closes after losing focus
(especially for sub-sub-menu's like the metering one)

Other sub-sub-menu's like for example Process-ApplyEffect-Normalize do not need to behave like that as they open a seperate dialogbox and there would be no point in the menu staying expanded

I am not quite sure if this might be a windows behaviour issue but couldn't find anything.....if so; could someone please help me in the right direction to change it.
Cheers

I agree.  These should be dialogues that allow setting of all options before closing instead of a one-shot menu.

I have made a couple feature requests for meters based on these exact issues. I'll vot for yours, you vote for mine. :)

IMO, ALL of the multiple option menus should be converted.

Or maybe the user would press a key (Alt, CTRL ?) before clicking on a choice to keep the menu open.

Great one!  It's the kind of thing you get used to, but it can be incredibly frustrating to have to click 38 times as you describe.   Sometimes it seems like the programmers never actually use the program or they'd have never made it work this way.

I often think that when I use some software or devices. Often about Microsoft or Google... I think "but the guy who did that never tried it!" because it's done in a non-logical way for example.

But about Cakewalk developers, I wouldn't say that because I know that most of them are authentic music fans and even musicians. But maybe they should observe more people using their (wonderful) software, they would see that things that seem easy or logical to the developers are sometimes confusing for the users.

Currently we have to navigate through a menu for each and every change made to each and every meter option.
This can be tedious and time consuming if you make a lot of changes.

What if there was a window with all the options in one place where you can set up your meters the way you want and even make it default?

Although it should probably be in the Project section, as these settings are (I think) saved with a cwp.

I've put in feature requests and posted in this forum about how clunky it is to set up meters. Many people have, but there's no love for changing it. If they were to make meter settings global instead of per project I wouldn't mind so much. There's a few things in preferences that I would like to change to global settings for this reason. I tried setting up templates but found that templates can cause problems after a few updates so I quit them.

The options for Track view and Console view are slightly different, but that could be sorted out... or incorporated so they're the same. And "Reset" should probably be a button not a box (as in new pic).

Anywhere would be fine, but Audio Meters already has a home so to me that would be the most logical place if it's going to be truly "consolidated" without having to visit more than one place.

The OneDrive team tells me that due to new security measures I am no longer able to post direct links to my pics (even though older direct links still work). I can only post url links. Many other sites are doing the same, so I am still looking for a good hosting site that allows posting direct links.

I also use Imgur for posting images, and even my old Opera 12 browser shows them correctly.
(often enough not the case with images from other hosting sites but of course I don't blame them for not being "compatible" with an old outdated browser... ).

Damn! It should be easy, shouldn't it?
Can't help you with the log in problem unfortunately (maybe their servers were inded overloaded),
but I too didn't receive a confirmation email first.
When I logged in the next day there was a button like "Send Account Verification Email" or something similar,
and after doing so, the confirmation email was in my inbox a few seconds later.

I hope you'll get it sorted!

Turns out imgur didn't like my IE browser. It does work with Chrome but since I already have Photobucket working in IE it wins.

Along with this I would like to see better use of the space above the Audio interface outs.
Like perhaps a phase or correlation meter's, longer mains or other metering choice, K weighting, true dBFS etc.
