If there are any users in Thailand, please find her and send her back to the forum. I want to propose. For you old timers, I am sorry. I am bored. My son is studying and I am tired of wearing cans.

My son is studying and I am tired of wearing cans. Simple. Take them off, open them, and drink the contents. (If the contents are not beer, say, they are in fact sardines or spam, slowly rise from a sitting position and find the nearest empty wastebasket. After vomiting, please DO NOT place the cans in the wastebasket. They are probably recyclable and should be properly stored until your local recycling pickup. If you do not benefit from a local recycling pickup, please consult your phone book for the nearest recycling center, place the cans in a storage unit of some type (plastic bags or cookie jars will work in a pinch) and bring the cans to the previously identified recycling center the next day. If you need to vomit more than once, then you either drank the ENTIRE contents (your taste buds should have helped you avoid this) or the sardines/Spam was bad to begin with.)

I sent my phone book to the recycling center. Now I can't call them. I also planted some bird seeds and a bunch of birds grew. I don't know what to feed them.

I also planted some bird seeds and a bunch of birds grew. I don't know what to feed them. Your son, I presume, is made primarily of chewable and vomitable meat and skin. He's not getting anywhere with the studying anyhow (I know that's not what he tells YOU, but YOU"RE the DAD)...

It's the last thing I said to an ex I have my studio in my living room and that is in Oslo. Yeah, dumb arse Norwegians fall for the propaganda, thinking that Pro Tools and Cubase is the stuff. Or they buy Macs because the propaganda says that is the best so they use Logic - which isn't a bad alternative. But more and more are finding their way to heaven with Sonar. I see you're a Trondheim man your self. I'm sure if we made a Sonar gathering in Norway, you and I would be the only ones there. It used to be some other Norwegian here on the forum but haven't seen him/her for years.

Me, I work at Trondheim Kommunale Musikk- og Kulturskole so I have young bands and singers over to record at a regular basis. I've also made a little money mixing and mastering other people's projects. I know of a couple other SONAR users, but they're pirates (probably the easiest pro DAW to steal off the web). Seems like Cakewalk is just starting to carve themselves a market here in Scandinavia. The Musikkbörsen catalogue is offering SONAR saying something like: "You've never heard of SONAR? Most people haven't, but on the other side of the Pond, it's as big as Cubase is here"! Sven

I have my own project studio where I use Sonar. I do a lot in that, mostly my own stuff but also some commercial stuff. I freelance in studios in Oslo, doing mostly TV related stuff. Currently I'm almost full time at Nordubb Studios and worked full time at Bio-Visjon until last year. However, I also do FOH in different venues and I do a lot of Lighting as well. Haven't done band recording in a while but would like to get back into that. What are you doing at TKMKS? Full time employee in studio? Nearly everyone I know who use Sonar are pirates, except for a very few. Everyone thinks it's rubbish. NISS people have said that for years so that's the common idea of it I think. Oh well, they don't know what they're missing out on. But I agree, it seems to gaining more and more fans. I just find it hillarious to walk into a shop like Imerslund, Prolyd, Filter and the like to ask for Sonar. You get all these great arguments for why something else is better.

I'm a guitar, bass and band teacher, but I get occasional jobs at our studios running Cubase (which I like) and PTLE (which I hate) in addition to the students who come to my place and record. I really don't understand the dominance that PTLE has here. I find it to be the least creatively inspiring platform I've encountered. If you'd be interested I'll inform you the next time I have a gig in Oslo. We could have a SONAR chat then! Sven

Had to giv eup in the end there and head off to bed. It's hard to go to sleep after working late, but eventually one have to I read about the studio on the website for your work. Looks like a pretty good school. I take it you're an educated musician, working as a teacher. PT is still considered the industry standard. I'm not saying it is but here in the cold north, who bothers to check up on things? The audio schools here uses PT and claims it's the best so that's what people think. I've worked on PT riggs for years and they keep pissing me off. I am one of those who find the audio editing to be cumbersome at best, in PT. Not to mention the MIDI side of it. For that price, even for a PTLE system, you should get a recording deal in the package! I'll PM you my e-mail address, except your PM box is full... Do you play in Oslo often? I'll let you know when I have a gig in Trondheim as well. I think we'll be heading up there early this autumn. Marius

If you're referring to the 'svenarneskarvik' Soundclick page, that's just my home studio, or at least what it was like last year. TKMK's facilities are a little more advanced. By the way, I've emptied my PM box, so we should probably end this conversation before we mess up Space_Cowboy's prescious thread any further I think we'll be heading up there early this autumn. I read about the TKMK studio - and TKMK in general. I was involved with a simmilar school just south of Oslo. The one in TRondheim looks much better. New PM is sent. See you around here and hopefully over a glass of gilded beverage somewhere some day. Now I'm done hi-jacking. Marius
