Hmmmm....Your Audio interface(UA25) IS the DR...It will not show up DR880, as you are using the UA25 as it's interface. I don't know anything about the UA25, but it should have Asio drivers. I would try them and definitely use your UA25 as your input\output devices. It's been awhile since I tried the USB cable, which I might try again here soon. I thing it shows up in the devices as Boss DR-880...I can't remember though...hope this might help some...I'm trying! lol David

...and sorry...I was in between things and didn't mean to assume you were using anything other than Asio drivers...sorry if I confused you!

Ok, problem solved...at least this one...I know there will be plenty more...But the cakewalk tech help gave me this explanation plus a bit of help from chuckebaby..
Problem/Questions: How to hear sound from MIDI.

Solutions: Go to Insert | Soft Synths -> Cakewalk TTS-1. In the Insert Soft Synth Options, make sure the box for Simple Instrument Track is checked, then click OK.

Next, select the Cakewalk TTS-1 Track so it displays in the Inspector

Go to Edit | Select -> All to highlight all of your tracks.

Then in the In/Out section of the Inspector, click the lower of the two drop boxes (for output) and choose Selected Track Outputs. Drop the box for MIDI Outputs and choose Cakewalk TTS-1 and hit OK. This will then change all your MIDI track outputs to go to the Cakewalk TTS-1 which will output as audio.

Don't understand why it works, it just does and now I can control my volume...Thanks everyone for helping out, I'm sure I'll be back for more soon....

Hello to everybody!
Can I ask some questions about using DR880 with Sonar\CakeWalk?
1. I usually use Controller 11 (expression) to make some dynamic in track. Strange
DR880 don't understand it. What to do? Use only Controller 7 (volume)? Not
good...
2. As I read in manual - it is possible to save many settings (to say better -
ALL settings) using Bulk. Does that means it is also possible to operate DR880 using
SYSEXs? Maybe in real-time? Maybe it is possible to input SYSEXs in MIDI track?
Where it is possible to get know this information? No words about DR880's SYSEXs
in Manual..
I remember that I made CakewalkStudioWare for my Yamaha synth and using SYSEXs
operated with many of it's functions.. Does it possible with DR880? Any ideas?
Thank you!
