Bouncing entire mix
I have 18 tracks all output to a bus and all busses are sent to the master. When I bounce "entire mix" what am I bouncing exactly? Thanks Rohnn

The entire mix, the mix in it's entirety, all of the mix, everything that is in your mix, the whole enchilada.

your bouncing the entire mix, that includes tracks, busses, and main. I always select the main outs when bouncing a song, like i think yours is (18 tracks) If im bouncing a synth, ill use the bus or track as source. This is how i do it, but you may do it the way that works best for you. Cj

I've sometimes wondered that too. I'd formulate the question like this: If all is directed to (master) bus, is it just the (master) bus sound that is bounced when nothing is selected? If not all is directed to (master) bus, will the tracks, that are bussed, be bounced through the bus, and others from their own outputs? Testing would be the way to find out, of course, I just haven't got it done yet. I usually select the tracks I want to bounce, so the question isn't so acute to me.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

if not everything is sent to the master bus, like a drum bus (for example) then youll have to choose buses (it includes all buses, including the master. does that answer your question. I forgott to add, when selecting buses, it will list every bus you have in your project and you can select or un select any buses Cj

The trick is finding out which or how many master outputs your "sound card" supports. I have 3 main outs on a SB Live card (I know! It was cheap, what can I say). Anyway, it has to do with surround sound mixing, but it can really give you a different fuller mix, the instruments seem to be more "in your face" with more separation of the stereo or mp3 image. Then comes the worst part, what you hear in Sonar vs, what you hear on your MASTER cd, is determined by your Windows settings in media player, and then that becomes an issue because of its eq's and other stuff. Good luck!
