Business model questoin for Cakewalk by Bandlab

I am a Sonar Premium user.  Have had my DAW off most of the time since Gibson dumped Cakewalk.  Just now taking a look at the Cakewalk by Bandlab product. I feel assured that my existing Premium version will continue to function if I also install CB on my system.
 
I know it says it is a free download. Fair enough for ex-Cakewalk users who they would like to entice to stay with the product. But what exactly is the business model going forward? Is it subscription based and dies if you stop subscribing, or what? They have to make money somehow. No arguments there. I want them to make money and stay in business. I just haven't found the information explaining how the model works. Would like to know before moving forward. Can someone point me to that information?

    BandLab has stated CbB will always be free. They have other lines of business and have yet to release any of the paid add-ons for CbB (such as Rapture Pro).

    There were some fairly long threads when BandLab announced their purchase. Mostly a lot of user speculation. I am not going to search for them. Feel free to use Google to find them if you are really curious. Don't expect BandLab to reveal their business plan online though.
