Unfortunately, this probably ain't so. In order to keep feature requests and bug reports organized, most developers limit any particular issue to one record in the problem-tracking database. Duplicate requests are therefore routinely closed with a status of "duplicate". I've never seen an option in such software for polling, e.g. keeping track of how many duplicates come in.

FWIW in the case of feature requests they are weighted and grouped based on how many requests come in for that feature.  So the more that come in for something the higher that gets on to-do lists.

With problem reports you are right, we maintain one report per-internal issue however that will link to multiple external reports so we can see how many folks have reported issue x even though our dev folks will only see one issue.

I'm using a bright folder line colour so I'm not that bothered whether indents come back or not.

One more thing you can do along these lines is to change the color of the Folder Clip Background. This puts a bright (if you like) wide bar across the whole clips pane separating the folder's tracks.

Combine that with different colour fonts for folders, audio tracks, midi tracks, and busses. Then throw in a couple of screensets one with audio tracks only, and one MIDI only and I find it fairly easy to work with whatever.

I still think that indents would be helpful but it's hardly high on my list of needs. Seems like everyone putting in feature requests would be helpful for those that do want them back badly.

This may be a stupid question considering I still haven't found the effects bin in X1, but... can we drag busses into folders in X1?  I know we've been wanting that feature since like... forever.

I was not giving advice; I was asking a question, thus the question mark......

Thanks. Perhaps that's why I don't have too much trouble with X1. There's  no such thing as a problem, only an opportunity to create a solution.

You havne't found the FX bin in X1?  it's in the same place as all previous versions of Sonar.  are you using track view or console view?  in track view, you have to change the default VIEW from CUSTOM to ALL (or FX) in order to see the FX bin.  there's a thread about why CUSTOM is the default and why it's even called CUSTOM if we didn't customize it, but that's irrelevant to your need at this point.  just change the pull down from CUSTOM to ALL.

Here's my current set up for colors in TV.  Use same colors for CV.

That looks fairly familiar. I'm using red for folders and the folder line, blue for audio, green for MIDI, and orange for busses. It's not difficult then to distinguish what's what but it'd still be easier with indents though. I promise I won't be on here complaining if they bring them back.

That's the spirit my friend! I have learned so much from your tips and tricks which I have implemented in my workflow. Not that I had much trouble but your ideas seems to make me more efficient

I even got the Screensets to work a while back. Your sig makes a whole lot of sense - not the untalented part - but the screensets part

Yes, thank you. I was looking for a tab at the bottom to change it like the other versions.   Thanks!  I now have my effects bin! However, I can't get it to go show console view now! hah. It was there and I clicked something and it went away.  I guess I'll just have to take the time to relearn software! Sadly, there isn't a lot of time to relearn software since I actually need to use the software for my career.  It's a proverbial catch 22 I guess.

I'm sure the screen shot above will work for you but man thats ugly as sin. (No offence)

First point if you have a folder track which is followed by normal (non folder) tracks, there is no way to differentiate unless you open/close the folder above.  I was stunned when they removed indents.  For what possible reason?  Anyway I pray it will be back on X1c

2nd, if we are really honest for a moment, a little font color here and there is so antiquated when it comes to speedy workflow (Is this a ZX Spectrum).  In large projects you have to make concerted efforts to find what you looking for (I mean breaking your creative thoughts).  Any previous version's colors would of done but this is crazy.  Its like someone got a spray can to a Lamborghini here.

If "Various UI enhancements" mean Colors are back in X1c I'll be renewed but I suspect I'll have to drive this lambo as is.  Shakes my  lowered head...  ;<  (can't look at that screenshot again)

Each to their own but I disagree. Strangely enough so do most manufacturers who make mixers. The buss faders are a different colour to the channel faders or at least they are on my antiques.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's a good thing the indents have been removed, I find it just as strange but it doesn't really bother me. much I find the 'antiquated' bright coloured folder line works for me almost as well.

In large projects you have to make concerted efforts to find what you looking for (I mean breaking your creative thoughts)

That's where Screensets and a bit of lateral thinking comes in.

the more that come in for something the higher that gets on to-do lists.

In that case, I haven't been complaining often enough!

Please bring back the whole 8.5 style software.  There should be a "Heritage" button to make it at least look like the older software.  I installed X1 and couldn't even find the effects bin.  Luckily, I didn't uninstall 8.5.3....  Not sure who's bright idea it was to screw everything up... but someone should press a huge "UNDO" button on Sonar.
