You should use that thread to put features requests, even ones asking that "previous" standard plugins be added back into the product.

I don't think so. In fact, I've used the official Features Request thread to suggest new features, but this is not an idea nor a novelty, is just asking if there are plans for some former tools to come back.
Imagine the new CbB doesn't include your most beloved SONAR feature. Where would you ask about it?

I would put those questions in the feature requests forums.

Sonar Platinum, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, Intel NUC micro-workstation with 5th Gen Intel i5-5250U, 16 GB RAM and 1.25 TB Storage, Yamaha MG10XU Mixer USB Interface, Yamaha HPH-MT8 Monitor Headphones, Yamaha MX-49 controller synth

That's a great feature. I was waiting for some minor changes in stretching and audiosnap, but you did more. Thanks a lot!

Bad done so. This is not a feature request, but a question.
Ok, so this thread is just to say thanks. No questions about the missing tools, please.

Its a massive update that we've been working on for months. Big changes to audiosnap functionality beneath the hood and many fixes and improvements to the audiosnap commands as well as rendering in addition to Elastique. Also Slip stretching has been greatly improved and many preexisting issues resolved.

This is all very nice and appreciated, but how about an instructional video for us dummies who are new to these new stretching techniques. And by the way, where do I find this new elastique feature?

As someone who uses slip-stretching fairly often, this is freakin' great!  I especially appreciate this little blurb from the link above: "Elastique Efficient is now the default online stretch method instead of Groove stretching".

Could the new stretching feature have something to do with Melodyne 4.2 not working correctly?

Just updated from 2018.06 to 2018.09.0.29. Love what has happened with the Step Sequencer. Fantastic. It's like a dream come true. Thank you very much :)

Unfortunately it crashed as soon as I touched a key on my MIDI keyboard (Alesis Photon X25).
Message was : A fatal error has ocurred. Module : ..\FaderPort.dll. Which is weird as I didn't have this controller connected at the moment. Issue was resolved by simply removing it as a control surface in settings, then adding it again. After that it can be unplugged without causing a crash, when not present while playing the MIDI keyboard.

[Edit] I'm having major problems with my OS (Win7x64) at the moment, an will probably need to do a reinstall. Can barely access my own files anymore because of mess with lack of permissions. Can no longer change the settings for my audio driver. Guess that mostly explains my problems.

Love the new look. Im coming from Sonar Producer X1. I was skeptical about running it. I feared it might uninstall Sonar X1. Everything is in the same spot as before. All my projects are there. My preferences stayed the same. I like the lens feature.

Thanks BandLab.

I've embarrassed myself a bit here with my ignorance, actually the only thing that has happened is that I have discovered how great it is :D Never looked that deep into it, just registered it was there and used FLS via ReWire for step-sequenced stuff. Great new possibilities have opened up. Love the +/- tweakability of each note step, and the configurable randomness pr. step. Also love the ease at which parameters of a VSTi or external MIDI module can be set. Good stuff :)

I like the configurable randomness per step used launching the step sequencer clips from the Matrix, and recording the output to the Track View. Is a very nice way of creating percussion variations.

I'm more impressed each month.
It really brings the time stretching and editing features on par with othe rmodern DAW's. But what is more important: it is really clear that the people behind this took a deep hard look ath what is going on under the hood and keep fixing and fixing.

What I would suggest you offer for download with Cakewalk at some point is an instructional Video series.

Better yet, host it on YouTube. TIme to show the world what this Baby can do!
Best DAW and for free!

Amazing.

Can't believe I didn't know about this earlier, I had used Cakewalk since the Dos days, had sonar V2 then switch to Samplitude because of their upgrade prices. Then Gibson went under... was just looking at the new Samplitude pro V4 and thought lets do a search on Cakewalk to see if anything had happened as I people were saying someone should buy it and... WOW!
Just have to say Thanks you for this!

I saw 1 old Sonar Plat user expressing reservations at migrating to BL, and he got wasted by some of the new BL users. I have some reservations myself because twice when I tried installing the NEW free version on top of my old working Plat ver. I got a Database Error everytime it would boot up. I tried every trick I could think of to get rid of it, but never could until I actually completely reformatted my SSD and did an old version of Platinum install. The other reason I'm apprehensive is I'm not at all into loops. Too much like rap, which when you compare it to Steely Dan, or some of the super groups of yesteryear, it's just repetitive noise, but that's another story for another forum another day. I DO have a question re: Old Plat about how my saves never save my changes for making my meters horiz instead of vert, and how the Navigation view always comes up. I don't know what to save in order for those features to be saved.

I'm going to uninstall old Plat, and reinstall the new and see what happens.

Sonar Platinum came with a whole mess of loop content.  In all these years only looked at it a couple of times mostly as a curiosuty of what they were offering.  While not normally my cup of tea, I'm also aware that even jazz musicians use (and mangle) pre-recorded loops these days.

Not sure why you would view Cakewalk by Bandlab as any different as it relates to loop content.
