Cakewalk By Bandlab - Audio Won't Stretch when Delaying or Adjusting Length
No Cakewalk by Bandland Forum yet, so here. Audio clip will not extend with any reverb, delay or length adjustments....

This is not a MIDI clip. And I'm more than sure I made it clear what I am attempting to do. Length. Reverb. Delay. If you need me to explain it to you, when you extend the length of a clip... the clip is supposed to lengthen!!!!! When you Use Reverb, the clip is supposed to... lengthen!!! As long as the reverb would extend!!! The clip DOES NOT EXTEND. It cuts off at the length of the clip and does not extend. There is no possible way for me clear it up any more than that!

Are we SERIOUSLY stuck with only communicating with forum members, with Cakewalk or Bandlab not bothering to read any of our concerns???

Why so hostile to someone trying to help you? Sometimes the best help for products come from the people using it in a similar way as you. This IS a user forum. In fact it’s a user forum for a product technically dead, so please save the hostility (if you must) for the actual company. Responding like this is not likely to resolve your problem any faster

No it's not. The clip will be as long as you recorded it to be i.e the length of the recorded program material. If you add a reverb or delay plugin on that track you will hear the reverb or delay tail, but the clip length will stay the same. You can extend the length of a clip by dragging the edge with the mouse.
Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

I tried extending the clip before applying Reverb, but it still cut off at the point the audio had ended previously, and I was baffled.

also, although your description is very self explanatory to you because you know all the subtle details, there are still unknowns to us. Is this a clip you bounced? was reverb appliued directly to clip? was revereb in fx bin or or pro channel? are your affects pre-or post fader? is your reverb on a send? There are many possibilities we cannot assume.

Yes, the Reverb was applied directly to the clip. No bouncing; is that necessary? No FX involved. No faders involved. I don't know what "on a send" means.

This is actually very helpful to know. My apologies for using language based on assumptions. Let me rephrase.

There are multiple ways to apply effects. You can apply directly to clip, apply to track , or create a bus with the effect that tracks can have a portion of signal sent to. The advantage of the latter method is that it is more CPU efficient to send multiple track and to one reverb than to have multiple instances. It also helps multiple tracks have a consistency as if recorded in same space. This might be a simpler explanation for you: https://youtu.be/RPZl39yIcjM

I think your problem goes away if you use send method for using time based effects or even applying via fix bin or pro channel. Stretching clip using one of those methods will not cutoff unless either gates or some setting within individual plugin causes. Hope that made sense and helps

I wouldn't recommend adding reverb or delay effects direct to clips. Instead, add them to the tracks effects bin or as dubdisciple said above, add a bus, add the effect to the FX bin on that bus and then add a send from the source channel to that bus. Use the send knob to adjust the amount of signal you send. This is also great for adding that effect to multiple tracks as using the same reverb often works best - just add a send on each track you want the effect on.

I'd never used the FX tab in the Track Inspector; this did what I was looking for. Thanks, everybody.
