How about you set up a confirmation on step 1. No confirmation received, got to step 2. The current flaw is, you confirm a subscription, but it's not a guaranteed confirmation.

You basically have to wait until you know that others are receiving emails, and you are not, before going to step 2. You might as well not have step 1.

I'll definitely pass along the suggestion (its not the first time it has been made). It is almost a moot point however because we still have to reconcile our database versus the third party's. Just because we can blast an email to you from our internal email servers doesn't mean that we immediately know you might have reported us as spammers to the third party. No matter what we still have to reconcile things without making mistakes which is very difficult since these services are very diligent at catching spammers. Confirming an email might help to detect bots but even the forum software doing that same thing fails big time at it. Worth looking into.

Anyhow, we have routine procedures that automate this, but they are robots and don't always catch everything.

At the end of the day though guys, I'm telling you if you get into this situation we can help. Trust me I wish we didn't have to interject to fix it sometimes but unfortunately that's the reality of it right now.

I'll definitely pass along the suggestion though to see if there's anything special we could do to speed up the process that reconciles things.

I don't think I've got you wrong in you trying to help. I suggested to the others to email support as per your email. Just that I could see a flaw in the process, with mixed messages being given by your system. It's a shame, because the likelyhood of someone accidentally marking an email from you as spam, increases with time, and so the chaces of affecting loyal customers increases.

Maybe a message on the subscription screen stating:

If you have previously subscribed and received emails, but no longer receive email, please email (whatever cakewalk  email is appropriate) or click this (whatever you want us to click)

Thanks for sorting me (I hope, I won't know if you have until I get the next email)

Yeah, I'll review the process a bit with the folks here at Cakewalk who have their hands in the guts of it. Last time we sat down I remember making improvements but it was one of those things that was frustrating when it seemed like it should be so simple to resolve.

Definitely let me know if/when you get the next Newsletter. Keep in mind some are targeted promotions and don't go to everyone, but in general you should find out within a few days if it was resolved.

Will do, I saw that those who had purchased x2 were entitled to an offer, so received an email that others didn't. (I think I got that right), so they are not blanket emails.

OK, on May 28th I got a reply from Cakewalk that my email subscriptions have been sorted.
Just checking to see if anyone has received anything in the last week or two.

Thanks,
Mike

I can't remember the last time I got one and I've tried subscribing as per an earlier post.
I just hope I don't miss out on a bargain .
