Hey, Scott I just tried Power Tip #7: Removing Background Hum (Noise) from Audio using your international advanced recipe and now every single G has gone - completely inaudible.  How do I get my G's back?  Or maybe you could send me a few of your G-notes to help me get over the shock.

Hey Jimmy,

No, the 8.5 features will be covered in the SONAR 9 Power book, but when that will happen I have no idea at the moment.

Still working on the DVD stuff... it's more difficult than I thought it would be...

Thanks!
Scott

Hey Christopher,

LOL! Sorry, don't have any extra G-notes lying around. If I did, I'd be on vacation for the rest of the year... or maybe forever if there were enough of them.

Hi Scott  R. Garrigus - Author of the Cakewalk Sonar and Sony Sound Forge Power book series.

I forgot to mention I eventually became a proud owner of Sonar 8 Power and I'm now an avid reader (don't tell me what happens at the end though I want it to be a surprise).

I got the book after July 1st does that mean I'll qualify for the 8.5 addendum as a free (paid) update...

btw I got another current Power book too, I shan't say which one but you are a better writer than you colleague IMO despite the lack of fly-fishing tips...

Keep up the good work.

Hey Jon,

Thanks very much! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it. Don't worry, no one dies at the end.

Sorry, no addendum... The 8.5 info will be in the SONAR 9 Power book, but when that will happen, I have no idea at this point.

Yeah, it's funny because I've heard from some people before saying that they bought some of the other Power books and they thought I was the author. And I have to explain that I only author the SONAR and Sound Forge books. Sorry for the lack of fly-fishing tips...

Now be sure to read the book cover-to-cover. Oh, and don't forget the downloadable chapters...

Thanks again!

Scott,

Great tips, thanks for your help last year getting my quad core up and running glitch free, my project is coming along fine now.

Using interpolate feature for MIDI velocity compression is something I can certainly use.

Also, Scott - take some time out and go fishing..............

Peace Love and Understanding

Hey Garry,

No problem... I'm glad I could help.

Thanks for the kudos on the tips!

Yeah... fishing this year wasn't very good. And now winter is here. I don't really enjoy ice fishing so I'll probably have to wait till next year.

Plus, I have too many projects on my plate on the moment. I'm sure I"ll be working all Winter. But all the work will be worth it once the projects are done...

Thanks!

Hey, Scott, nice tips.

As an alternate for #3 - if you want to delete every occurrence of a particular note, go into the piano roll and click on that note on the keyboard on the left side of the screen. At least in "Select" mode, that will then select all of that note.

Hey Scott thanks for the tips I went to the front of your web site and saw were we can get a 10% discount on various items like the bluecataudio products by mentioning some codes availabe on your site. I went to bluecataudio and noticed they offer some cool freeware plugins and I mention this in a thread I have created for us guitar players here to share cool ideas related to being creative with using sonar to record and even possibly use live. Here's the link to the thread if you have any pull with cakewalk we are discussing a bug in this thread that you might be able to help us get fixed and we need someone with your experience to help us solve some other issues as well as maybe develop some cool tips for us guitar players.

Hi Tom... thanks! Glad you enjoyed the tips.

Hi Bryan... thanks! Yeah, we've got quite a few music companies on our Deals page at: http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/deals.asp

Sorry I don't have any pull with Cakewalk when it comes to fixing bugs. They have their own schedule. You have to submit an official bug report.

Best,
Scott
