John T Jonbouy The OP was a simple question about downloading patches. 1/ No it wasn't, it was silly trolling. 2/ You actually already know this. You are basically being Mike's equivalent of that little yippy goblin that sits on Jabba the Hutt's shoulder. It's embarrassing man, seriously. Ya think?

"Jonbouy" judging by some of the real nastiness that's been directed at me the last few days, which I find strange and a bit disconcerting Just kick back and take a deep breath. Pour yourself a pint. Puccini is a great mood setter if you have. I have some experience with "real nastiness" in these forums. But I'm not here to talk about it, I'm here to listen. It's not good to keep booggers on your heart. Let it all out Jonbouy. I am listening.

JClosed Well I have to agree 100% with John here. Sorry Mike, I really liked your helpfulnesses when I visit the forum for the first time a few years ago, but now I can really say you lost a big part of my respect and you are (in my humble opinion) rapidly becoming the anti-these of helpful.. I really don't know why somebody goes on such a special crusade against anything "X1" for months and months, but it seems you made it a daily job. Well fortunately there are people here that are really helping newcomers and people with questions is stead of telling them (wrongly) they have crappy software... Is there something you need help with? Last week I helped inspire a V.I.P. magazine editor to actually take a look at track layers and he reported back to us that he finally figured out what all the talk about buggy track layers was about. Maybe he'll explian it in the next magazine review and Cakewalk will consider improving the situation. Earlier this year we got one of the Cakewalk tech guys to actually look at the way stereo interleave swaps back and forth when you make mono track overdubs on tracks that you wish to monitor in stereo. It seemed to take a few days of explaining... you know saying the same thing over and over again until it sinks in... and then he looked and replied that it did seem like it would be a hassle and we now hope maybe someday that someone will code in a option to save the parameter. Just last week some of my pals got a Cakewalk tech guy to finally listen carefully about how the clone layers operation works with folders and then they got him to reflect on why 90+% of users seem to think it isn't intuitive. I'm no longer satisfied by sending in reports and feature requests. I like the fact that some of us are actually getting people at Cakewalk to actually look at how Cakewalk works. That seems to have been a good thing... because some of the Cakewalk guys seem to be acknowledging that they are finally beginning to understand what the comments are about. JClosed, thanks for being polite while you were expressing your opinion. all the best, mike

I've never said anything close to "last straw" or ever implied that I might be giving up on SONAR despite your repeated recommendations that I no longer purchase the upgrades. Get your story straight.

Now that the blatant personal attacks have subsided that eroded the thread before it was even able to be judged as helpful or not, I wanted to make it clear that I understood the OP was referring to the updates being touted by Cakewalk as being 'FREE' for registered users when in fact they are freely downloadable by anyone. Of course they are of no use unless you have X1. The point is they are always 'marketed' by Cakewalk as being 'FREE' to registered users (indeed who else would want them) like they are some value added deal when they are merely repairs to the original faulty product that has already been purchased. Regardless of the accusations by a certain individual that was even asking approval from his apparent side kick about whether perhaps 'they' should further participate in this thread, I have no affiliations with the OP and he like everyone else here stands or falls by my interpretation of the sense or validity contained in the contribution itself as I see it. I do think it is valid to criticise 'repairs' being represented as added value. I understand to that every individual has the right to want to lick Cakewalk all over regardless of what they do and that's fine by me, but I've always been the good friend that will point out something you may not like but in the hope it will serve you well in the future. Should I be villified for that? I don't recall ever having a desire to villify anybody on this board, I'd like to have the same courtesy extended toward me. Is that a big ask?

I also think he was being purposefully discreet out of courtesy. I also may be wrong, we don't have an umbilical link as some have suggested.
