Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to get Sonar to recognize the 2 Waves plugins that I recently purchased. I seem to have them DL'd and activated, but Sonar's Plugin Manager won't scan them. I hate that Waves Central won't let me put the plugs where I want them, but I did find them and pointed Plugin Manager to them, but no luck yet. Any ideas? Is it possible to use Waves Central and direct it to install the plugs where I want them? TIA

Thanks Larry. I think that did it. I had pointed Plugin Manager to the Waves parent file and it looks like I needed to point it to the Plugins V9 file. Thank you!

One of the Waves plugs I bought is the Kramer HLS eq. Comparing it to the IK EQ73 that I normally use on male vocals. After getting a sound I like on the HLS, I tried matching it with the 73. There is definitely a difference in the sound of these two EQs. Subtle, but different. The other plug I got from Waves is their dbx 160 clone. Just reading up on it and going to try it across the drum buss. Thanks again Larry!

The HLS is based on the Helios Console and the EQ 73 is based on the Neve 1073, so they should sound different...if they didn't I'd be questioning it - or your ears

LOL!! And I DO question my ears fairly regularly!! Yes, they sound different, but I was trying to make them sound the same, so I could listen to the differences. I love the EQ73, but there is a "warmth" to the HLS that I really like for this particular singer/song.

Well, I thought everything was smooth sailing after I FINALLY got the waves plugs installed and working ....... I tried to open another instance last night and it crashed Sonar. WTH!! So I got busy researching. I finally figured out that I was disconnected from the web. So I took a look at WC and sure enough, I still had my waves licenses on the cloud. OK, easy enough, I'll just move them to my DAW system. Followed the steps and now WC AND my account page at waves website say my licenses are in fact, on my system. ...... but they still won't open when I'm disconnected and crash Sonar every time!! Anyone have any ideas? Do I need to shut down my DAW to activate them? Hmmmmmmm ......

I followed the Waves instructions exactly. The first pass uninstalled all the existing plugs and added the new plug. Then I went back and selected show licenses on this computer. It showed all my products and I selected install all. Bingo, all the stuff was up and running and Sonar found everything just fine. I'm using default locations for all my Waves stuff.

Right John, ol pal. That's exactly how it's supposed to work:-) And...hopefully...now any new waves plug you buy can simply be installed by itself using the easy install/activate button.

Glad to hear most of you were able to upgrade to the new Waves installer, but for me it went horribly wrong. I ended up having to download the old r29 installer before any of my Waves plugs would work again. I found helpful troubleshooting info on the Reaper site -- some folks over there are having similar issues. License management seems to work OK, it's the new plugin installation scheme that causes problems for some. Anyone who hasn't tried Waves Central, be aware that there seem to be some bugs that have yet to be worked out. Be careful out there, folks! Cheers, Eddie

There's recently been a some new plugins released which are included the Mercury bundle. On trying to update a Mercury to install these new plugins which were released about 3 days apart complete fail.
The plugins appear in the Mercury bundle The plugins appear in the appropriate Waves Plugin folder Don't get added to Sonar.
Fix - delete %appdat% waves audio folder and then reinstall all my waves licences again. All OK. Obviously there's some bugs not so much in a first time install but to update a bundle with newly included plugins.
Awaiting updates.

BassDaddy But they have pretty pictures of your products now.
Yes they do:) Actually, Tech Support helped me sort it out. It was painless, but I had already been using the woli.exe and the Waves License app. Under the Install tab, I selected My Products (they are all listed) and then from that list I added each to the install pane on the right. I had tried this before with just one plugin, but I didn't know what would happen given that message 'This will uninstall all previous Waves products....' so I aborted. Tech Support confirmed that the install routine would uninstall existing older versions and install new versions of existing products. Installing new plugins and transferring any new licenses, like the one for that freebie TrueVerb, from the Cloud to my laptop works as it did before. Never had trouble there. Afterwards, I launched SPlat and scanned for plugins. Done.
