It's easy, painless, and in the end better. I got from a vid that it done the removing of the old stuff for you when you install, but it doesn't. If you select the 'easy install and activate' can't remember what it is called, the left hand side option of the 3 in Waves Central, it IS supposed to remove the old and install the new for you. But I just installed, manually removed all the old stuff woli and the license thing all the plugs, cleaned out any left over folders, then let it install all my plugs again. Can't remember the actual sequence, but it was easy and without issue.

I did it this way also. Just make sure you remove all folders waves from everywhere. I uninstalled all the plugins, moved my license to the server then uninstalled the older software. Installed the new software and the plugins and my licenses. Sounds like a pain but really wasn't.

Welp...I watched the tutorials and used the easy DL and activate to install the GEQ but, according to WAVES, simply installing and running the new Central removes all your old plugs and you must then install them using the install plugins button and then reassign them to your flash drive using the manage license button ...which is what I'm doing now...
BUT
After 45 minutes of downloading it was only about a third of the way through...so I just left it running and came home. I'll see what I and WAVES have wrought on the morrow.

Welp...as usual with moi...my internet connect at the studio is too slow to take the giant parallel download from waves central. It's crapped out twice after running over an hour and the folks at waves say prepare an "offline installer" and do it that way. Let's hope by tomorrow I have my waves plugs back.

Right now I've got too many projects and too many favorite plugs to think about abandoning waves entirely. I had no troubles preparing my offline installer tonight at home. I'll keep ya posted as to what happens tomorrow when I try to reinstall all my stuff on the DAW.

Back to normal. Offline process was easypeasy. Plus now I have (at least for now) all my waves plugs on my keychain flash drive as a backup. Gonna have to find a way to get faster internet at the studio...without paying for it;-)

Even with this new Waves Central installer I still have to delete the C:\User\My Account name\appdata\Roaming\Waves folder otherwise it won't install any new plugins. It happily updates existing plugins to new versions but will not add any new ly purchased plugins It's been like that for ages but it only takes a few seconds.
Originally it was only a fix for an installation that went astray. Now I have to use it as part of the installation process.

What's weird Mudgel, is that when you run Waves Central for the first time to install and or activate any plugin, it's supposed to completely uninstall all your existing plugins. Then, as I did, you can reinstall all of them using the new system. Are you saying that when you first ran Waves Central it didn't uninstall all your stuff?

That is what I thought, and thought I got from one of the vid's, but it did not do it for me. When I looked into it latter, I believe if you use the Easy install and activate or whatever it is called option, it is supposed to uninstall for you. Didn't bother checking it out, because all went well the method I used.

It may have uninstalled the plugins but not the folder I mentioned where there is a cache of files that sometimes don't get updated. Then when you open a DAw and use a waves plugin you get the "where is Waves Ver 9 xxx folder". But then I just updated my Mercury for the new GW Plugin and this time it worked properly. Maybe just a snafu on original install. It all seems to work fine now. I like this much better than the previous system.

I thought everything was supposed to move over and update, no telling what other waves plugs wont load $%^&^% ewe , waves

I wish I could tell you , but this new waves central screwed up a lot of my vst 9.3 presets including those you mentioned. I keep getting a looking for waves shell 9.3 folder , so apparently it did not update my exisitng plugs.. I AM NOT HAPPY

I think the way it is supposed to work is that if you choose the 'easy install/update' (something like that, not at DAW at the moment, but it is the left hand side option of the 3, it will (is supposed to) remove the old stuff. I originally got the wrong impression from a video I watched about it prior to installing, thinking it would automatically remove the old stuff, but it didn't. But I had no trouble even the way I done it, I manually removed the old after sending all my licenses to the cloud first. Worked like clockwork, very happy with the new Waves Central, much better than the old, even though I had no trouble with the old. As for Kramer HLS and TG12345 Scheps and NLS, they are all very good in my opinion, I use TG12345 mainly on the master buss and it makes things sound so sweet, I use the others all the time, and it varies due to the situation, type of material etc, but I love them all, sometimes one will suit better thasn the other and visa versa as normal.

Let me tell you why I hate waves as much as other people do I was forced into WC because I purchased the 26 dollar Kramer HSL console, because my old waves license system wouldn't install it. To make a TL;DR after a dozen attempts of installing WC using the easy, using the offline etc I finally think my plugs are installed. It is supposed to be easy? really? the easy install didnt work for me 1 I removed all waves presence that were on my PC 2 I used the select ALL waves products to install and checked just the ones I own(previous attempts to install from MY products didn't work, not all products listed and kept crashing) 3 I installed on line (off line never worked kept crashing) 4. I ran this all this morning before work and it appears my Sonar plug in manager list is populated with all my plugs except one the waves rack, which I think was a freebie and I will have to go back and try to find and install it. As much as I like the products I would rather the ILOK method, because their next step will probably be the dread S word and like the bully on the playground , kill your plugs if you don't pay. Thanks to mr Head from another thread response for helping me find the plug in folder to scan

What confusion. I'm new to Waves plugins, so I was already using their V9 license manager and product installer, but Waves Central is a major pain. I have an email in to Tech Support. I just picked up two new plugins. Before Waves Central came along, I would have run the Waves install program and then authorized the plugins on my laptop by running the Wave License Manager, selected the license from My Cloud and 'Send' it to my PC. Done. Now, I'm not sure what to do. The list of plugins is different under each of the three main areas of Waves Central, and the Cloud and Local lists don't even match.

The Cloud list is only what you have NOT installed. The PC List is what IS installed.
Sadly, right now, you have to go register the serial #'s on the Waves Site (if you didn't buy at Waves) and then they will show up in the Cloud list. Check the box of what you want to install and it will install.
When you want to move your licenses to "The Cloud" or elsewhere you have to go to "Licenses" and then "Manage Licenses".
It will take some getting used to...
