Okay... yeah he looks on the up and up but that isn't the Suite. It's just Producer.

I'm not sure the current exchange rate but the X1 Production Suite was originally $500 USD. Then last spring/summer it dropped to $400. The upgrade to X2 is $99 without the promo.

I'd say look around until you can find the Suite for $300 or under and you'll be getting a decent deal. Essentially you'd be getting what I paid $600 for total for far far less and I only bought the Suite in May. However I really don't know what people are liquidating the old stock for. Could be more, could be less. Just be vigilant and I'm sure you'll luck out. Cheers.

Oh and their phone number is listed in the auction so maybe give the dude a call and see if they have the Suite.

Is Production Suite much better than just Production? I've noticed quite a price difference between Suite and Production. I'm just curious to know what is inside :) Thanks, Beep. You have been a great help.

Again I'll refer you to scook's earlier post. The main difference seems to be the better version of Zeta. If you are into synths that is supposedly a good one. There is some other stuff like the one PC gate module thingy but I'm not exactly sure what got included in X2. You also might be able to pick up some of those extras for cheap when the go on special over time.

Really if you are going to get a disgusting deal on the basic X1 Producer in comparison to the Suite it might be a better way to go. Frankly I don't regret getting the Suite but if I hadn't I really don't think I would have missed it. I just got it because I thought I was getting EVERYTHING that Cakewalk makes... but I was sorely mistaken. I just didn't know what the heck I was doing back then. Cheers.

Oh... BTW X2 comes with Zeta but it is a lesser version so it's not like you'll be completely missing out on that aspect. Not sure what the difference between the versions are.

Understood. Such decisions are always difficult when one is new to things like this. Hmmmm. I'll try look at some cheaper versions of Suite. I've found some for £300. Just £100 over the price of Production. Edit - I've just found one at $400 which is roughly £250. Sounds good to me?

That's not much of a deal. That's the price Cakewalk was charging for it over the summer but then again these things tend to be more expensive overseas. IDK... you'd still be paying $200 less for the Suite and X2 than I did so it's certainly not a rip off. I think a lot of the sellers had the prices lower at first because they didn't realize CW was giving away X2. I was looking around at some of the American sites and they seem to have jacked the price up again.

The main thing though is the software is indeed worth it. As far as what you get in the package it pretty much smokes all other DAWs in a price comparison. Cheers.

Hmmm, this is a hard choice. £250 is the cheapest I've found it for, and It is a a lot of money. But if you think there might be cheaper out there, then I'm probably being patient. Why is software shopping so difficult? xD
