Clean install of Sonar Platinum?

Hi, guys! In prior installations I have installed just the newest features of a an upgrade. Therefore, some of my newer versions are tied to older versions of Sonar. Is it still going to be advisable to uncheck the features I already have from prior versions of Sonar or should Platinum be installed as a complete new version with all features installed? I sure don't want to have to go through fresh installations of DimPro, Rapture, etc..

Sonar Platinum, Sonar X3e, Sonar X2a , Sonar X1 Expanded and 8.5.3 (32 and 64 bit), Windows 10 on a Toshiba P75-A7200 Laptop with i7 @ 2.4 quad and 8 gigs of RAM and secondary WD 1 Tb drive, Windows 10 desktop, Asus i5 @ 3.2 quad, 12 gigs RAM, 1 Tb drive, 1 500 gig drive, MOTU 24io, 2 Roland Studio Captures, Saffire 6 USB for laptop, Soundtracs Topaz Project 8 mixer, Alesis Monitor 2s, Event BAS 20/20s, Roland Micro-Monitor BA-8s, and 45 years worth of collecting FX, Mics, Amps, Guitars, and Keyboards!

It seems you have the option to chose what you install. Just like always,

I did not install Dim Pro, Rapture or Melodyne for precisely that reason.  I did install all the content listed under Platinum even though I probably have a lot of it already, but it was a 1 click thing and I didn't want to think about it.

Command Center is pretty cool (unless you like type reg numbers and serial numbers).

On that same note....I just purchased my new I7 beast and have nothing on it as of yet. Should I transfer my X3p or should I just install the new Platinum????

I would check if there is anything on your old machine that was included with X3 that is not included with Platinum, there may just be something, otherwise I would think unless you have older toys that came with previous versions for SONAR X1 and X2, like R-Mix, V-Vocal etc, a clean install is all you need.

Since the new release is so new, I would probably install X3 and then the new release. The idea being, I have a known good version should I encounter any issues with the new release.

If we want to keep V-Vocal, do we need to install X2 as well, then? Or has someone figured out a way to install only the V-Vocal plugin on top of X3 or later?

This thread seems to imply that you can't simply do a custom install of a previous version to install only the plugins you want.

Does anyone have a list of the various plugins that are version specific like this? V-Vocal, R-Mix or whatever?

The installation of V-Vocal has not changed. It relies on the previous version installer. The plug-in requires a minimum install of the old version to get it installed.

Thanks for confirming. That's a bummer though. I guess I better get started - maybe by the time I finish re-installing versions 4 through X3, the new one will be posted! lol.
