John T I'm not a big one for bothering with customisation at all, and I actually like the default look of X1. But even given that, I think there are some really odd choices in X1 that can't be changed. My pet one is the fact that the separator strip in the console view is the same colour as the console itself, which makes it totally unfit for purpose. And there are people with even worse eyesight than mine who could come up with a dozen such things no doubt. So I think while there are lots of people who just want to be able to mess around with for aesthetic reasons there are also practical reasons why lots of people want colour changes too. I think it probably feels fairly low priority for the developers, because you'd generally guess that people are asking for the former reason, rather than the latter. Nothing wrong with the former, but it's becoming apparent that the latter group have a fairly real difficulty. The concern is called "accessibilty". When a company, that used to brag that Ray Charles recorded with its software, kills accessibility and places barriers between screen reader applications, that have previously been tweaked and dedicated to making SONAR accessible, the shift in priorities is especially poignant. When the same company leaves basic color choice dialogs available, yet non functional, the sad irony is eclipsed by pungency. As a reminder, my concerns as a Cakewalk customer are that Cakewalk has lost track of the details. After 14 (15?) years of annual upgrades... ALL I CARE ABOUT IS THE DETAILS. all the best, mike

Ray Charles was completely blind. How's about that for details? So he's probably a bad example.

ALL I CARE ABOUT IS THE DETAILS. all the best, mike I'm in total agreement. I could not use X1 until Panup made those mods. I use Zoomtext and can't use it with X1. I was in contact with Cakewalk about the problem and they told me to use a 96dpi setting in my Win preferences. I don't mess with that preference and the person at cakewalk obviously did not READ the message I sent. [[<font]To those who think it's not big deal. When you get home tonight turn on your bright lights on your car. Get out and kneel down and stare into your lights up close for about a half hour. You'll feel pretty good after. I recomend this to web designers who continue to use white backgrounds as well.
