Command Center Error [CWBRN-32323]

Since the latest installment of Cambridge release, Command Center don't work anymore on my machine.
It opens normally, scans the products and after the last action "calculating file sizes", CCC closes its window and an error appear with the following:

Oops, sorry!
Unfortunately something went wrong, and Command Center was unable to recover.
If this problem persists, please contact Cakewalk Technical Support.
Click Ok to restart Command Center.
Click Cancel to close Command Center.

Restart brings again the same error. I have tried to reinstall Command Center, restartet my computer, tried to empty the CCC cache folder, but the problem persists.

I've wrote this to Cakewalk Technical Support and got automatic response with a case numer 166594.

But maybe someone here in the forum know what to do or have ideas to solve this problem.

Update: CWBRN-32323

Thanks.
regards
Markus

I know this got an auto-response back, but this should be replicated and confirmed by at least someone else prior to posting here.

I will move this back to the Sonar forum for now - to give others a shot at replicating your results and confirming it as a bug - then it would get moved back to the Problem Reports forum.

Moving forward, please start these kinds of threads in the Sonar forum - in addition to keeping the Problem Reports forum to where only confirmed issues with CWBRN numbers get placed.

This is what Cakewalk is asking for - as a means of helping the developers to use their time more efficiently.

Thanks,

Bob Bone

Thanks. Nice to know that someone else here with the same problem.

@robert_e_bone
thanks, understand. I wasn't sure about the role of the "Problem Report" forum.

And really, I don't understand exactly the difference between the two Cakewalk support options on the Support-Contact website. "Problem report" and "Technical support", both seems suitable to report problems with the software.

So for example this problem here with the Command Center.
The software don't work as intended. Should I report this as a problem or should I report this to technical support?
Very confusing imo.

How many people have to display the error before it goes into the problems forum? I thought if someone could replicate the problem that's where it went.

One question for those that are having problems. Are you running C3 as an administrator?

Hi Markus, I has exactly the same error, i using a german windows also, like you

I think this is an GDI+ error, the program want to display font, graphics or other elements with a illegal property

Der Absturz kommt gleich nach dem online -scannen. Bisher hat der Support noch keine vernünftige Lösung präsentiert.

I think the CC always asks for permisson to run as administrator. But yes, it runs as administrator. And i also tried it manually. No luck ...

You can do both. The Problem Report is for letting CW know there is a problem. They will then check it out and try to reproduce it. If they can it will be sent to the developers if not they may ask for more information. At any rate they will let you know its status.

Technical Support is for getting help from CW directly. The best way for that is by phone. However they except emails. They may not get to it quickly via email.

Most things can be resolved here in the forums. Keep in mind we are peer to peer user to user. We don't have all the answers but our track record is darn good.

By clearly stating the problem and step by step instructions that you did to get the problem will expedite a solution.
Right now I have the notion that you all are using the German language version. If that is so that all of you use that version it is an important consideration. Let us know if that is true or not.

Thank you for your answer. The language issue could be the reason. Lets see if everyone is using the same version.

I got some mail from support with instructions to delete the cache folder and new installation routine of CCC by removing all registry keys and files. But this didn't work for me, the problem persists.

I tried to change my regio setting to English (USA), but still the error.

But, I got it to work with some kind of a mouse-click workarround. It's a little bit confusing.

When the CCC window opens, press left click on the top as you would like to move the window and hold it. Hold the left mouse button on top, maybe move the window arround, until the product list opened on the left side. It takes a while until all products are listed.
This worked for me and it seems, by holding the left mouse button on the top it interrups something that occurs only on initialization process of CCC.

If it works for you guys too, please report it here.

Well done, it works, but the scanning process for "Nach Updates wird gesucht - Brian
Hardgroove Collection" is not ending until you type on one of the "Connected Products".
If you do that, the complete content of the windows appears and the scanning procedure ends.

I see where an email to tech support was done, but has anybody submitted this through the problem reporter?

Since there are multiple confirmations that the German language setting seems to be problematic, once a CWBRN gets generated I can move this over to the problem reports forum - where the developer folks will see it.

Go ahead and submit it as a bug.  I'll move it to Problem Reports after you post back to  edit the thread's 1st post subject line to add the CWBRN.

The left mouse trick works for me. Setting the language to English works.
