Hi Bob , excellent production as always but this one is full of nice surprises : ) Guitars are beyond reproach, all of them. That rhythm guitar sound should come with a health warning, downright scary ; ). Now you're even bringing out the acoustic, what will be next, an unplugged album ? Have a nice day, Rik

Tom Riggs: Hi, Tom, Thanks very much for stopping by to check this song out, and also for your very kind words! That's really a great feeling when someone who doesn't usually listen to the genre still takes time to listen and enjoys the song and leaves supportive comments. I really appreciate your input and observations, and it really means a lot to me. That's what makes this forum different from many of the others, and also such a great place. It's funny, your movie soundtrack comment was almost exactly what my wife said the first time she heard this song! Maybe someday, who knows, right? By the way your Soundclick page has a ton of excellent smooth jazz on it, I listened to the first five. You really have a knack for fresh sounding, very tasty jazz with great vocals. I really love "Solstice", really good stuff, Tom! Thanks again for giving this a listen and commenting, I greatly appreciate it, have a great day! Bob

Bob I have a new favorite tune of yours! The harmony backing vocals really make this song shine. It also seems to have more atmosphere than your other tunes...sounds dark, cold, and mean. I probably listened to your first mix of this and I like the improvements!

I always enjoy your stuff Bob and this is no exception. Great tune, tasteful guitar fills - I think the drums are a little busy in places but that's more of a thing I think about the genre in general rather than this particular song. Good work.

morenoise: Hi, Rik, How are you, my friend? Doing great, I hope! Thanks very much for stopping by to give this a listen, and also for your very encouraging comments! LOL, no unplugged albums quite yet! My first intention was adding a little acoustic break in the middle of the song for a change of pace, and then coming back in with another full-force chorus, but then I decided that it might work well as an interesting outro instead. Although, I do have one all acoustic song that I did a couple years back that I've cleaned up a bit for inclusion on my CD in a few weeks. Thanks again for always listening and commenting on my music, I truly appreciate your friendship and support. Have a great weekend, Rik! NOTE: Sorry for the late replies, guys, I’ve been slammed at work and away from the forum for a about week and a half. ================================================ disrezolution: Hey, Chris, Thanks a lot, buddy, I really appreciate you checking this song out for me, and also you kind words of encouragement! I take your comment as a great compliment, because I’ve always tried to write music that gets people’s adrenaline pumping, so I guess pumping iron to it would fit right in with the plan! By the way your recent Bonjovi cover was spectacular, man! I’m talking acoustical dynamite with killer vocals. Excellent stuff, my new friend, I can’t wait to hear more! Thanks again for stopping by on this one, I’m really grateful for your input. Have a good one! Bob ================================================ Faust1587: Hey, Steve, How are you, man, it’s really great to see you back around on the forum! Thanks for giving this one a listen for me, and for your very kind words. Yeah, I was going for a full out, dark, modern metal production in the vein of Sevendust or Killswitch Engage. I’m really glad that you like it, and I appreciate your input and comments. Your new song post, “She’s My Blade” is really killer good. I’m glad you’re back here posting again, great stuff, Steve! Thanks again for your input and support, it means a lot to me, my friend. Have a good one, Steve! Bob ================================================

I have always enjoyed your music Bob. This is no exception. Great song. Great vocals. Outstanding. But. Way too much bass IMHO. Maybe I just want to hear them gits screaming a bit louder by comparison. Rockon bro. Shad

Bob, Dang those intro guitars are sweet! Cool tune. The background vox at the choruses blows me away. You hit the sweet spot on that for sure. I also dig the way you use the clean guitars for the end, very nice touch. Great work man.

Once again, sorry for the late replies, guys, been really jammed up at work and finally getting my CD released. FastBikerBoy: Hi, Karl, How are you, my friend? Doing great, I hope! Thanks so much for checking this one out for me, and for your very kind words! I really appreciate you taking time to give it a listen and comment, and your input means a great deal to me. Have a great day, Karl! Bob ------------------------------------------------------------------------ foxwolfen: Hey, Shad, It's really great to see you back around on the forum! Thanks for stopping by on this one and for your very encouraging comments! Yep, sometimes it gets a bit tricky with that low tuned 5-string bass. I ended up dropping the bass guitar by 1.5dB for the final mix, hopefully much better. When levels are very close I usually adjust the offending track level like an eye doctor, (better or worse) moving just a half dB at a time until I'm happy. It usually works pretty well for me. LOL! Thanks again, Shad, I always appreciate and value your input. Have a good one! Bob ------------------------------------------------------------------------- CreatingNoise: Hey, Tony, Wow, I'm really happy to hear from my Distant Towers buddies! I almost emailed you guys from the DT website last week to check in on you. Muchos gracias for lending me an ear on this one, and also for your very kind words! You and Tom have always been a great source of good advice and observations for me. I always look forward to and greatly appreciate your input, and value your friendship and support highly! Thanks again, Tony, I'm really glad to hear that the DT boys are back making some mighty fine music, have a good one, buddy! Bob -------------------------------------------------------------------------- thepogue: Woah, don't pay the ransom! It's me brudda from anudda mudda logging in from a whole new hemisphere! Seriously, Tom, as I mentioned above, it's really great to see you and Tony back around, and I'm hoping that you're getting settled in nicely on the other side of the world. Thanks very much for checking this one out, and for your very encouraging words! You DT guys have always been very helpful and supportive on my stuff, and it truly means a lot to me to call you friends. South Korea, huh? Looks like I missed my chance to buy you a shot and a beer when you were down in Willow Grove during the blizzard two winters ago. Who knows, maybe someday I'll do a Halo Jump into Chinhae with my Les Paul and mini "Oisterizer" amp for a beer and a jam session! Thanks again, buddy, I'm grateful for your input, support and friendship, have a good one! Bob --------------------------------------------------------------------------
