Console view group folders

Folders in the console view that mimic folders in track view. I think it will be a good work flow feature to be able to open only those groups of tracks your working on and will limit sliding left and right in projects with many tracks.

My reference here is Reaper, that has an integrated bus in track folders - and that expand/collapse in the same way in mixer view. Quite a bit of use of track manager is obsolete if this is implemented - you just expand/collapse as needed in mixer view too.

Mixcraft 7 also has very good implementation of submixes and folders made of synths etc. Pretty much like Sonar do it, making all audio outs children of a folder - but also making a bus of the folder automatically, no extra fiddling with busses and routing needed. To me it's good thinking.

We need more votes. I'm sure most people would like this feature.

This does make a whole lot of sense... the "hide" system is ok but.... the click on a track is ok but still... the folders just make soooo much sense...I've wondered why this isn't a shared aspect of tracks and console for a long time...why not automatic folders based on track folders...

could do a lot of things with the folder, select list tracks, thin with vertical name, oh they are endless but just being able to collapse chunks would be wonderful.

Clutter... console has too much clutter and decluttering is neither intuitive for new users nor consistant via track/console or the most efficient way to declutter... the folders just make sense...

Collapsing mixer channels based on folders would be great (although I doubt this would work with the VS-700 but hey we are officially legacy!)

I'd like to suggest an option where collapsed folder/channels don't fully disappear but become so narrow that all controls are gone, but the LED meter remains to keep seeing levels ...

side effect: cake could add this as a "very narrow" channel view (to allow this view for individual channels) so you could also set up a meter bridge with all channels in a screen set (I know you already can do but with faders requiring larger screen estate) ...

May I remind the bakers and vote counters that this has been previously suggested and voted on.

Let's keep the votes coming. Previous Feature Request thread on this:

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

I think this feature will really make a big difference improving work flow and viewing space so lets keep this thread and lawajava's thread in post #9 alive. Vote Vote Vote so the Bakers implement this.

Thanks.
