It worked for me.  The server was probably busy or you're using Firefox.

    A moderator?...I don't know. Maybe "Support"?

A guide? I'm confused...you have 353 post counts- where did ya rack that number up from?
And I have to say, 5 years and 353 tries...you sure gave it a hell of a shot before asking. I'll give ya that.

The FAQ's worked fine for me...go to Support and there it is- click on it and it works...so I don't know what could be going wrong for you.

Somebody will help. I know you have the patience and good luck.

It's a Comment field.  Mine is empty and I haven't had any trouble.  Is the Always Us Signature box checked-off?

Moderators are easy to find.  Start flaming people and they will report you....soon, a moderator will show up to moderate you.   Important note: This is not the recommended way to contact the moderators.

or.... go here>>>  http://forum.cakewalk.com/tt.aspx?forumid=57 and notice, at the top of the forum is a section that the moderators use to provide info about things they think might be important. Click on their name in the THREAD STARTER column and it will pop up a way to contact them.

Firefox as a browser used to be OK to browse here but it no longer works well..... try a different browser.

The FAQs I meant are the ones under the Forum Menu, not the coffee house FAQs, I get this in both Firefox and Chrome, http://forum.cakewalk.com...pxerrorpath=/faq.aspx. Is Firefox a nono around her now I tried adding a comment into the comments field in both firefox and chrome, but still I get 'The last field must not be empty', when it's not, so makes me think its not that. Do I have to use IE as a browser here. Seems the site has been overhauled since I've been away, I'm not particulary hapy about being Scoot, but I can't change the user name, or delete my account to start again, and I'm stuck with an out of date signature. I tried finding my old threads to see what info I may have in them that will be of use, but they seem to have vanihsed. I tried PM'ing Willy Jones, but his is turned off, I PM'd someone else, but turned out he was a developer, not a forum mod. My return to the forum is turning into a headache, and I've not re-installed 8.5 Producer yet

I was usin an old version of Firefox but it began to give me problems so I tried IE9 again and it is working perfectly for me now. At first it was really bad, seems to be OK now.

If you don't like using ie, just set the forum here as your ie homepage and use you browser of choice for everything else.. that makes it easy IMO.

you can't delete the account.  moderators can, but they have in the past been very reluctant to do so.

I don't understand - you think getting yourself banned will help you?  how will that help you?   banning is not the same thing as deleting your account.  banning simply means you can't log in at all.

I don't appreciate your language and you're acting stupid.

Brilliant, you saw my error. I thought it was referring to the last fild on the screen, the 'My comment'. I guess because my account was set up on the last forum, when it was dragged here, it worked. I'll try adding in my name IT's not my only problem, I'm not happy using my old name. I can't change it. Deleting my account would allow me to create a new one with a different name. Alternativly a mod (which I'm starting to belive are fictiscious) could just edit my name for me. FAQs don't work. I'm used to forums, but I con't figure out some basics on here I'd hope the FAQ's would help me with

I've only ever seen ONE person out of the thousands of users on this forum get their login name changed.  the mods are reluctant to do that for whatever reason.

but it's still not worth getting yourself banned over by using language like that.  and as I said, banning does not get your account deleted - only de-activated.

you're likely stuck with the name.

The idea wasn'y to get banned, but be reported so the mod would communicate with me. I'm completly failing to find a way to contact them. I can't PM them, I can't get a responce if I report a  post. If they ban me, I'm guessing it will ban my IP, I'm just wanting my name changed and some guidance on this forum.

Just found Quoting and access to fonts requires using IE, so another issue resolved.

I didn't think the f word would be considered so bad tbh, maybe it's more common to use without causing upset for the British. At least it wasn't the C word It was just meant as a joke to get reported so I'd get some commucation from the powers that be. (you can't report your own posts.

Thanks, My signature has just jump 3 years forward to ebing up to date

The idea wasn'y to get banned, but be reported so the mod would communicate with me.
that's not the way it works really.  after being reported they will ban you or not.  if they ban you then they will send you an email - sometimes.  sometimes not.  I know of at least one member who was banned temporarily and wasn't told why or how long he'd be banned or anything.  it was just "done" and that was the end of it until he was able to log back in again.

regardless of that - violating the TOS and posting inappropriate language to offend others who read the forum just to suit your purpose is still inappropriate.

it doesn't matter if you think your language is "that bad" or not - it is offensive to people and it's against the TOS of the forum.  you must have known that or you wouldn't have tried it for the purpose you did.

as far as quoting and proper format for posts, yes, firefox above version 3.6 (IIRC) won't work correctly.  IE works correctly.  I"ve been told that FF new versions WILL work correctly if you use the IE plugin tab (whatever that means - I don't know because I use IE).

    Scoot.

The answer is so simple (as far as your current IS).

Turn off all subscriptions and notifications for the Scoot ID. Then ttop using it. Simples.

Now, go and create a new ID with a your (presumably) new email address. Use that from here on out. Simples.

Now, ask direct questions on this forum about how to use the forum (and all of it's idiosyncratic behavior). Simples.

Don't be a pillock (like me). Simples.

Don't expect the mods to be your slaves to what they would consider simple user issues. Simples.

    Simples, roight?

I don't have a new email address. There lies the problem. Changing a user name/deleting and account, seems pretty basic stuff to me. I'd hardly call it 'be my slave'
