Copy and Paste CC Lane Into A Different Track Keeping Existing Data

Hello,

I'm using Sonar Platinum with the latest April update.

I want to copy just a CC lane from one track then paste this into another track keeping existing notes and the (different) CC lane already in the destination track.

In an earlier thread, promidi kindly explained how to copy just the wanted CC lane which works great.

http://forum.cakewalk.com/Copy-and-Paste-One-CC-Lane-m3598719.aspx

When I paste this into the destination track, it removes all the wanted events in that track. Is there a way in which I can paste the copied CC lane into the destination track and keep existing data in that track?

Thanks.

Are you talking about MIDI or audio...track view or PRV?

    Hello Craig,

Thanks for your reply, it's much appreciated.

I'm working on a MIDI score at present and have been trying via the PRV but I'm open to any method including via track view or the Event list or any other method if available.

The method promidi suggested involves using the Edit->select ->By filter to select just the wanted CC lane/data in the host track and this works great but when I paste into the destination track the existing notes and other CC are removed.

Right, I now have it working and am able to paste without affecting the existing data.

I'm not sure why it works now, I just kept trying.

My suspicion is that on the Paste Special dialogue box, under "What to do with existing material" you may have selected "Replace old with new" instead of "Blend old and new"

I might be wrong on that, however.

    Hello ricoskyl

Following on from promidi's explanation, the paste options in 'Edit->Paste Special->Advanced need to be set as in my screenshot below.
