Countdown To Insanity
The CHB welcomes you to our latest nightmare. Countdown To Insanity. With the recent moving on from The CHB by our dear friends Danny and Jonbouy, Bapu and his son Jason took on the task of drums for this contribution. By way of announcement, all future CHB tracks will have Dave (Quatumeffect) on drums. As of now, two new offerings have begun work. As always you can hear the Sound Click version HERE Or, the Hi-Res version HERE (remember to TURN IT UP!!!!) The Lyrics Verse A: Something's going on inside of my brain From moment (to moment) I don't feel the same (the same) I can't seem to find Where I left my mind Everything is changed They're saying I'm deranged Verse B: Life is just getting scarier Crossing over the barrier I'm in an uncharted area Give me that needle I'm daring ya As a child, I was precocious Then they said that I had a neurosis Tried everything, even hypnosis Now they're saying it's a major psychosis Pre-Chorus: Time is slowing down almost to crawl Scared like a child lost in the mall Fell like just another brick in the wall Am I somewhere or nowhere at all Teetering, tottering ready to fall Go to visit Alice down the rabbit hole Chorus: Is this my countdown to insanity Where I lose my pride and vanity Everything is unraveling On my countdown to insanity Bridge (Asylum): Somebody wake me up tell me I'm dreaming I hear doors slamming and I hear people screaming Nurses chained me up on a sofa Turned on the TV and made me watch Oprah Then they all laughed as they gave me injections Said I just needed some time for reflection Please Dr. please. Awesome creative stuff and great performances! Another epic tune. Mix-wise, maybe a little too much emphasis on drums/vocals - more guitar & bass please!

Hard core! Good mix and performances. I like the vocals a bit up front, especially if you have good lyrics. I don't know if this is part of the song, but it ended abruptly, and I doubt that you intended it to be that way. It may have just cut out at the end. I'll listen again later, but this cooks.

Monster production guys, it must take some considerable work to bring all this together. Can't fault any of the performances here, everyone's right on the money. Mix-wise though I would like to hear a little less drums and a touch more guitar, with some of the murk taken out of 'em so I can hear that Strumming in minute detail Who did the artwork? Edit: Was just browsing your site - there's a typo on the 'Bing' page.

The drums give this a much more contemporary feel than previous songs; has Gryzylyg (sic) been moving in time as well as space? i hear Devin Townsend a lot in this (and the nice nod to Floyd with the 'brick in the wall' lyric) not gonna comment more now, as only listening at low volume on the laptop; once i get a chance on the DAW i will return! but i likes what i hears so far!

Pretty cool how you guys have your own webpage. Philz, you listened to some Zappa in your day didn't you? :-) Not unlike my 2nd marriage, I can't really comment on the fidelity? (notebook speaks) The genre isn't really my forte, but I can appreciate the work that went in to this.

I knew this was coming. You guys always do the pre-release avatar thing. Love that chunky rhythm guitar. Grant, you make my fingers hurt. Drums rock. At times the vox seem maybe a little bright, but I think it fits. Wonderfully manic production. Good job all around , guys.

Hey, Guys, Very cool job on this modern sounding progressive metal extravaganza! Fun writing, and great performances by all of you. Phil's vocals are cool and bordering on death metal when he gets down really low and gutteral, nice thick, edgy guitar tones, and killer solos by both Steve and Grant, the synths, bass and drums sound tight and powerful together, and the mix has a very polished, modern "Euro Metal" sound. Great stuff, guys. lots of fun! Bob

@Tap - Thanks for being first to listen. We always remember our first. @dlogan - Thanks for the comments. @Scotty - Exciting is what we were shooting for. @Lynn - Sorry about the abrupt stop. Robby gets that at times too from our site. It may be time to move to another hosting service at renewal time. I really wanted Philz voice to come though on this one to really give the sense of the insanity of the storyteller. @jamesg1213 - 43 individual stems/tracks on this one. Pffffft. Megaton Maniac was like 64. Steve did the font work on that existing art. Fits the song no? @jamesyoyo - Thanks for stopping by. I know metal is not your thing so it's appreciated that you at least listened to our effort. @mgh - Glad you like the drums. I spent hours on the programming and sound sculting with the nudging of Alex and the help of my son. I'm pretty proud of the drum sound. @Robby - Thanks for being honest and taking a listen too. @Bayoubill - Thanks for the postive feed back. Since it wore you out, we may have reached our goal. @Bub - You caught the two way street. Good for you. The Bapu is The Bummeer according to The CHB. @Guitarprima - Thanks for taking time out to listen. @Dreambliss - Losing the mind is what the song was all about. We did our job (with you at least). That artwork is perfect for the song IMHO. @geeare1 - You're the first to mention the sitar. I thought it added to the mood of the insanity as a "flashback" feeling. I knew the Line 6 Variax JTV-69 would come in handy. @57Gregy - Thanks for listening. @RobertB - Thanks for all the positive comments. Yeah, I know about the 'bright' vox and I think they add to the craziness of the storyteller. @McQ - Thanks for the kudo. We all appreciate it. @Wookiee - Feel free to listen to the cacophony as often as you like. @Herb - Thanks for lietening. Ya, you know what we were thinking. Crazy chit. @Janet - How did you get a link to the acoustic demo version of this song? Thanks for stopping by. @Freddy J - Thanks for all the kind words. Agin, we wore you out.... hopefully in a good way? @bayoubill - two posts? still shooting for platinum? Thanks for stopping by again. @Frank - As I said to Wookie, listen as often as you like. Thanks for the first time. It was special to us. @Beagle - Always good to hear from the self procalimed 'unofficial' CHB fan club president and or mascot. @Bob Oister - Thanks so much for the postive review. @Jan(aka Old55) - Finally a review from you. Glad you could stop by for the Insanity. See you @ NAMM buddy. @lhansen - Thanks for mentioning the sitar. It was fun to use the JTV-69. Note, the bass was actually done with my Line 6 Variax Bass using the Ric model. BTW, John Denver is doing Progressive Metal now?

Big thanks for the listen and comments everyone. Thanks Gary, Rob and Bob for the comments about the solos. Sorry my parts were so creepy, the older boys made me do it... I'm really proud of the work everyone has done on this. I had my doubts in the beginning about this one and you guys turned it around and made this one into my favorite CHB song to date. Awesome work CHB brothers
