Hi Scotty - Sincere thanks.

Hi Daryl1968 - Sincere thanks. Cacophony? Yep, that's Rock!

Hi Radio - Sincere thanks - they always say "the best is yet to come". Hmmmm. I just hope there is another Blue Moon soon!

Hi rscain - Sincere thanks. So pleased the vocals come across as being eerie - just what I was aiming for - but then Miriam is a bit spooky anyway - but don't tell her!

Hi timidi - Sincere thanks.

Best Wishes
Malcolm

Malcolm - I meant that in the best possible way :) - there are so many different themes going on throughout - love it sir

Hi Daryl - I assure you I fully understood that and am very grateful. I do have a tendency to put in a lot of themes and in my original draft for this piece, I got rather carried away with the violin playing jigs! Not something you often see Crows doing! Fortunately I cut those sections - but I don't believe in waste so they will no doubt pop up another day! But not with Crows!

Fantastic collab Kenny & Malcolm, you've elevated this already fine track to a superb level. Those lead guitar lines with the violin are just fantastic. Top drawer, and exactly what this forum is all about.

Kenny has certainly lifted this piece up to another level with a finish that shines. He instinctively cut his way through this rather eccentric meandering of a musical maze and gave it the glue it needed to polish and gel together: and it all fell into place with clarity and cohesion as if it were premeditated. Good work gentlemen! Each element was fascinating, but the sum of the two, even more so.

It is something out of the ordinary predictable humdrum that we are all so unfortunately accustomed to these days.

Eccentric is to be applauded rather than disdained when applied to the arts. Genesis, for example, were highly eccentric in their earliest days, and I enjoyed their music for years until they became more overly predictable and commercialized.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said that "To be great is to be misunderstood," and the reason for that is, innovation. When you blaze a trail off the beaten path, it will be somewhat unusual and fresh to the discerning eyes of the predictable and conforming world.

Really outstanding on all counts.  Collabs are amazing creatures.  They result in something that is larger than the separate parts.

Hi Kreative - I totally agree with you about innovation, the lack of it in elements of 'popular' music today and how some bands seem to loose their way through commercialisation - (the latter is one road I will never be likely to travel!).

Hi Marcos - Sincere thanks and totally agree about Collabs - it really is amazing what a fresh pair of ears and an outstanding musical skill can add to a basic song.  Kenny Rocks!

Wow... just wow.

I love this track, I think the only way it could be improved would be with a real vocalist... I really don't like Vocaloid even when it (she?) sounds realistic there's something about it that just turns me off. Obviously a personal thing!

But putting Miriam aside for the moment - the song is bloody marvellous. So much going on and the fusion of so many different influences. Just wow!

Cheers,
Terry.

Hi Terry - Sincere thanks. I very much take your point about Miriam - oh for a real woman (and I must have said that a few times in my life)! I suppose the only plus aspects of Miriam are that I don't need all that recording equipment and I can create 'vocals' (of a sort!) as and when I need them. But I repeat - oh for a real woman! One day!

if david gilmour had played with jethro tull then we might have ended up with this instead of 'DSOTM'! truly awesome in the main bulk of the song. intro seems a little superfluous to me.

Hi Mark - Sincere thanks. Just thinking of Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull together is mind boggling! If only ....! I do take your point about the intro. I suppose it was just the way the music developed in my head as I was writing it - I had in mind a piece of Folk with a strong beat and needed to bridge between the Folk and the Rock somehow! And I also suppose it just took me a while to get going - must be my age!
