I purchased Cubase 9.5 as well. I REALLY wanted to get Studio One, but 90% of what I do is Midi with VST and external synths, and S1 just isn't there yet. I've got everything set up (and Cubase patch scripts written for all my hardware), so I'm going to really dig in over the holidays. Just poking around the midi implementation and PRV seems to be light years ahead of everything else.
I actually prefer the Sonar UI, there is too much "Mac-ness" in Cubase. I guess that is what you get with a cross platform product.
And I hate the E-Licenser. It was so nice to run SPLAT on my Surface at work - I like to just "mess around" at lunch time. I actually ended up buying a Cubase Elements version for that machine.
