Dad died this morning.

My dad this morning after years of alzheimers disease and colon cancer.

I need to get out of town to deal with things, but I'm down with the flu.  Its going to be a rough week.

Oh, I'm really sorry to hear that Mark.

Bless you and a tough break being under the weather at this time.  Here's hoping you are given the strength to deal with whatever needs doing and don't be afraid of allowing others to chip in.

Much respect and sincere condolences to you and your kin.

Thanks so much for the kind messages.  That really means a lot to me.

Update:  When my mom died 6 years ago my dad prepaid his funeral arrangements with the same mortuary.  They have conveniently lost all records of that $20000 transaction.  My sister is trying to sift through the mess of papers he left behind to find proof.

    Sorry Marc,

I deal alot with Alzheimer's in nursing homes a lot and ponder the precious once-a-man twice-a-child proverb (or however it goes) ... that helps me deal with our heart-wrenching deaths spiritually.  Thank you for sharing your uttermost heart.

    God bless!

Hey M, think of it this way: he's cured now.

That's the thought that comforted me when I was hit with tragedy. Don't sweat the funeral home snafu--you don't need that on your mind, and I'm sure it'll work out. Get out of town, take your best axe with you. Come back to us with some brilliant new music.
