I hope I'm not out of place by saying this but it helped(s) me. When I went through the cancer I was in an abyss. I came out of the ordeal with a divorce. For me that divorce was a death. I fell to my knees. It hurt the same as when I lost my parents. I wrote a good bye song to the "Her" or the "We" that once existed. I've never posted it. I never will. Its my personal goodbye. I agree. Songs got me through my parents' and sister's deaths. Anything you can devote full concentration to can block out black thoughts, at least for awhile.
The kids are putting together a slideshow for the memorial, so my intention is to compose a piece to accompany the slideshow. That's if ST3 ever finishes downloading...I'm on the third day now. Gotta have my trusty Miroslav Philharmonik on disk first.

I need to get to the CH more often. Dave, I am truly sorry for your loss. You have such an eloquent way with words. I can only offer what you already know, that the pain gets easier to deal with over time but the whole left in your heart will never be gone. You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.

That is a lot to miss. It helps to know that the suffering for her is over but the bitterseeet memory for you is just starting. Time will help. But it is the rite of this passing which is most unplesant. Some get over it while others do not. I can see it in my dad. He has moved on but he still misses mom...they were together almost 60 years. So it would be understandable. Heal my friend....but no one says you have to forget.
