P: Very nice work. Given your formidable skills and vision ... I have an idea of a feature I'd love to see that seems consistent with the feature set you are working on. Let me know and I'll pick your brain. Best, and again great work -D

Oh oh if Dom and Panup get together we're going to see a new X1. All I want is a compose button.

Project has just started... I'm coding it 6-10 hours every day after my normal studio days but I can't promise anything. There are some major problems that may cause harm in other systems, for example the way Microsoft has arranged 32 and 64 bit registry access for a x86 program in x64 environment. A bit technical speak but in clear English there are things to solve...

Added features yesterday & today: - Colors: added 8 custom colors, saved automatically - Added Instrument Definition browser. Currently read-only, edit coming. - Most programming is still building internal framework.

Most difficult parts are yet to come and that's why development will slow down: I fear I have to find out internal ID's of all the Key Bindings manually by entering a binding in SONAR and then looking the stored code. Fortunately it's 'once in a lifetime' job and will let me make Key Bindings searchable by the function name... that's a feature I've been Feature Requesting a long time ago. I guess there are others, too, who have wished this feature for years.

News of the day: - I'm building Path view from scratch using Grid View. Key word: FLEXIBLE. Currently it's just showing the paths but I'll add rename & move & other goodies before going public. - Added window to show SONAR, Dimension Pro and Rapture serials. Easy to copy & paste whenever they're needed. - I tested Windows 8 style tiles in the main window but I did not get thrilled. I went back to 80's and made C-64 style console. I'll add commands for most common tasks after I've learned what they are. Console is not mandatory - you don't need to use it at all and it can be minimized to save screen estate.

Today I put some serious time to make my utility ready for the future SONAR versions. All important paths, folder and registry key names program needs are configurable. If I leave them hard-coded and stop support it's still possible for users to configure program for X2, X3 and X4 (unless CW changes program dramatically). I made some very preliminary tests of reading CWP file. I can at least extract SONAR version the project was made but I try to extract some other data, too, like File Info, used plug-ins etc. CWP is not documented anywhere and thus I'm not sure if this is going to lead anywhere. I had an idea of automatic sonarmods installer / uninstaller bundled in the utility and launch buttons to start SONAR using different themes. Recent Files list could contain some fixed entries or it could be completely restored to earlier state. What for? Imagine you run commercial studio and you record a band. Next day there's another customer. Later the first band comes back. It would be handy if Last Files could be saved & restored because then it would be easier to jump into the project files. After SONAR has crashed Deep could search the last used CWP and add it to the Recent Files list. SONAR can't do it and CW does not see this feature as important as I do (Feature Request sent long time ago).

This is a great idea. Not anything straightforward because serial numbers are around the registry and files in various places. I can add more serials if someone tells me how to find it in the registry.

John I really like the ideas you have. I too can't wait for it. Patience, please! There are so many steps to climb from an idea to a tested program... Utility that tweaks system registry must be reliable and I have to test it myself in several setups before letting it go public!

eep Newsletter - Added Automatic Crossfades Toolbar to Deep. It changes SONAR's Crossafades state in real-time and gives visual feedback of the status just like legacy SONAR versions. - You can choose Crossafade types in Crossafade Button's Context Menu. - More toolbar items are under investigation. SONARPlus is there already anyway. - Added Registry Import - Adde Registry Export for Colors, Key Bindings, Screensets and Recent File List. - Moved Deep's Preferences to File Menu and removed Edit Menu. - Added SONAR's Recent File List to Deep. Paths are checked and invalid entries are marked for removal. - Coming: save and recall Recent File Lists - Coming: add permanent entries to Recent File List (ment for studio owners who make their first album 10 years) - Console View: added right-click context menu and a few items. I use Deep as SONAR's Frontend. I tested that Deep can launch SONAR Plus which launches X1. They all work together perfectly :-). - Console View: there are already over 20 commands for those who prefer to use keyboard rather than mouse. For example, you can launch the first Recent File List project by command "1". Sonar starts by typing "SONAR", "S", "DAW" etc. X ON turns Automatic crossfades on. X OFF turns them off. X? shows the current status.

Sorry, everyone, but modders such as Panup are not allowed to accept money, even as 'donations' for their mods. This is because they are modifying property that is not theirs and do not have the right to redistribute it in any way. SP
