Deep SONAR Preferences utility (teaser)
Teaser image of my new utility for SONAR: (open image to new tab to show it in 100% size) I decided to make my own SONAR preferences editor utility called Deep SONAR Preferences. - Color settings with Search - User paths & Content locations - Utility menu - LOTS of various settings that are normally hard to find from the SONAR interface - Maybe a totally new design of Key Bindings to allow search for the function and not only the key. Note: program is not yet ready for any kind of beta testing...but I do it all night long!

Lynn You and Benstat should be on the payroll. +1 I wonder how long it will take Cakewalk to make something similar that is native to the program? I am guessing at least two versions if we can even still customize colors by then. Thanks panup! Eager to see it in action.

Nice thoughts! I especially like the search-by-function idea (as opposed to search by key)... I've always felt this was an important missing item.... Keep up the brainstorming! You're opening up lots of new pathways! Keni

Incredible, much praise for all your work. I really hope X1-C doesn't break anything you have done, either accidentally or on purpose.

Mod Bod Lynn You and Benstat should be on the payroll. No, because then they'd have to toe the company line. (And give us stuff we don't want.) Hmm - I think it is far more possible people here will burn them on a stake and loudly pronounce they make "garbage" software that is only béta quality if their "upgrade/extention" gives an error message (or even worse and unthinkable - crashes) when plugin X version G under circumstance Y on Operating system Z with computer hardware U and additional hardware V working with drivers W version T using soundcard J in configuration G with drivers K version L is used... They should have tested it - everybody knows that !! They would be fired within days... I guess...

Looking good... Might this be including easy lst access of variables for the various ins files? I've always wondered why they didn't include a simple Listing util for this allowing change so users don't have to type in the variable name... Keni

Panup, anyway you do to make the plugins scroll across the screen. The present method of clicking the arrow and scrolling downwards is very slow.

I haven't written a line of code in more years than I want to remember! ;-) Your work is greatly appreciated by me as well as (I'm sure) many others here... You've helped to ease my transition into X1 so that it's a lot more comfortable than the program itself allows at this point... and as I use it everyday, I give thanks everyday! Thanks! Keni

panup Not yet fully working but idea is clear... Thats awesome! Gives me hope even if Cake decides not to devote any more time to returning or adding customization tools. I just hope they allow these great utilities to continue, and I think they should even cooperate as much as possible with community participation (within reason of course). Why, I may even install X1 again after X1C is released just to try some of these amazing add ons. If I do use them, you can be sure I will donate! Thanks panup!

LJB And you guys are still not employed by CW!? I am honestly puzzled. They would laught at my CW. I was a professional database programmer 10 years ago but since then I haven't written single line code. Things have changed in a decade! C, Pascal, QuickBasic, Clipper languages I learned are gone. In MS-DOS days object oriented programming was not 'the thing' but now there is no other way to do code in Visual Studio .net. However, I don't think I couldn't learn programming again. I have a a goal and it keeps me going...

Things have changed in a decade! C, Pascal, QuickBasic, Clipper languages I learned are gone. Ah, yes... c and Clipper. Made a pot load of cash coding in those languages in the mid-late 80's - and 90's then Management called... There is still a clipper community on-line. Lots of legacy apps to be maintained... I left IT and went into commercial Real Estate just as the Dot Com bubble burst. Find myself jonesing for coding every once in awhile. Just bought a copy of Visual Studio 8 for fits and giggles so I appreciate your quest. Nice work! Get a PayPal account as I'm sure we'll be willing to contribute for your trouble :)
