Dimension Pro x64 Crashes Sonar X3e

Hey all, Dimension Pro crashes Sonar X3e when I'm using any of the drum loops found in "Drum Groves", for example "pc_110_fingercymbals.prog", after 2 measures crahses Sonar X3e.

Any one experience the same, or have a suggestion how to fix?

Does DimPro crash under any other circumstances on your system ?

Does it crash on this program if you run DimPro standalone ?

I've just played the program standalone and encounter no problems.

--Ah, but I just played it in X2 and Sonar hung after maybe 8 loops...

I also crash on pc-80-fxmix2.prog, but not on the other two pc_... progs.

This seems to be a problem with REX files (?) not behaving well in a 64 bit environment, and not a problem with Dimension Pro or Sonar.  Problem goes back at least four years.

Enter : // dimension "drum grooves" crash site:forum.cakewalk.com // (not the slashes) into google and you'll see many posts about this.

I can't get Sonar to crash playing pc_110_fingercymbals.prog if there's space between loops.  For example, a series of one measure notes spaced a measure apart won't crash.  Nor contiguous two measure notes.

Also, with contiguous one measure notes, the program crashes at 120 and 180 bpm, but not at 190 or 200.  Same if notes are all the same note, or arranged in a staircase.

I played a bit with the sfz file with no luck.  One thing odd is the first slice/wav is 1k, the other 16 are all 30-34k.  Commenting out the first regions that use the first slice had no effect.

The last time I tried I was able to close Sonar while the engine was still stuck in its hung loop.  All other times I had to kill Sonar from Windows.  EDIT:  Sonar windows closed, but Sonar was still running and I had to kill it with task manager.

Doesn't look to me like a 32/64 bit issue, but who knows.

I tried to duplicate this several ways but never got a crash.  Is this happening in multiple projects?

I just create a new project, add DimPro, insert a bunch of consecutive notes in the PRV and crash away.

    However, I'm still on X2.

This is an excerpt from the DimPro help about Groove Programs http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3064528

For me, pc_110_fingercymbals.prog does have stability problems when playing the pitch shifted full loop on the keyboard. Dragging the MIDI loop from DimPro (the Musical notes to the right of the element) or the individual slices works OK. FWIW, I do not believe the version of SONAR matters, DimPro has not changed in some time.
