Disabled Core Parking leads to many more crashes
I disabled core parking as described in the following post http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=1861804 Afterwhich X1 has crashed several times. Is there a downside to turning off core parking? Also problematic is that my NI Kore Controller has stopped responding in between crashes. I guess I could reboot to fix the problem, but there seems to be a relationship between bit bridge going to lunch and core parking turned off Any advice? System is, i7-950, 12GB DDR3, Win7x64, video drivers current, CW V-100 USB audio interface Thanks all Tom

I believe there are thousands of PC configurations out there. Overclocked.....virus scan.....firewalls. Should X1 work with all 1000 types of computer configurations?

Well, isn't this kind of a loaded question? Of course there are thousands of pc configurations... but they are made up of "standard" systems and protocols that X1 (or any other DAW) should be able to handle (although some "tweaking" may be necessary ).

Tom Tom, couldn't you just change the values (described in the "fix") back to what they were?

I would initially agree with you, but when you start going professional - exclusivity is a plus. Thats why I think another popular DAW only works with certian types of audio interfaces and certian types of TDM type VST intruments and effects......etc. I believe there is a version of X1 called.......professional? I believe it's time for Cakewalk to take a professional stand and make a version of Sonar that's lets just say: Cant be supported with Virus protections software running Cant be supported on a CPU that is overclocked Cant be etc... Basically needs to be exclusive to itself in order to run it's NEW higher end applications and features that require the full uninturrupted attention of the CPU /GPU / RAM / etc . I would be in the market for it. Then let the other Sonar versions be for everyone else. Anyway...... I have on my helmet - fire away at me.

Interesting comments- I thought core parking was not optimal for audio applications. Is that the case? Yes I can turn back the core parking to original setting, but I susspect there is something else that is not set properly.
