Hilarious - Stanford can't reproduce the results of a '79 study because people have become too .... stupid?

They don't have the arithmetic skills required... yo!

OK.
I'm not sure how...but you took the fun out of it for me anyway.
...

Ohhh ... sorry ... you did not get the references to the folloowing, all in one swell foop!

Bonzo Dog Band
Alberto Y Los Trios Paranoios
Neil Innes
Grimms
Mike McGear
Peter Cook and Dudley Moore
Ken Thorne (soundtrack master for a lot of those weird comedies that had music in the late 60's and early 70's ... he was really crazy and his soundtracks were excellent!)
The Magic Christian
Derek and Clive
The Goons (of course!)
Puckoon (Spike Milligan)
Ed Welch

The play reference is "Marat/Sade", whose quotes and insane-ness appeared in a lot of music ... you can find quotes from it on Revolution #9 by the Beatles and it is specially well quoted by the master himself, Vivian Stanshall in the Bonzo Dog Band ... in the song "We are Normal".

Ok ... like I said, in the bottom, I'm getting rather eccentric in my old age!

...
And after you take my lines from a post - Richard Pryor being recognizably funny by all and turn it into "With all due respect ... the majority of the work by Prior is not "ironic" ... it's very REAL" as if to be correcting me about something I didn't say nor insinuate.
...

You know ... I wish I had a recording of that show ... it's just ironic that we can talk about irony but can not accept it when it bites us. I am not allowed to state my opinion that I did not think that the majority or Richard's comedy was not ironic at all, but "real" ...

Mannnn  ... I wish a had a recording of his bit with Red Foxx about not being "black enough" ... the biggest irony of it all being, that we are not, all of us, capable or man enough to accept other folks views and understandings ...

So American, let me tell you!

If you are gonna call me stupid, at least do it to my face. How rude, a stereotypical, racist, elitist attitude.

What is bizarre about this statement, of course, is that the attitude with which it is written suggests that there is no way that any one can call that person stupid anyway ... that person can't handle it! They are getting beligerent instead of intelligent and communicative!

Sure you're allowed to and I never stated you weren't, so why question it?
What I stated was that you did write it as if to be correcting what I said, which I didn't.
Maybe I misunderstood your meaning because of "With all due respect..."

Whatever the answer to our failure to communicate is, is of no real matter to me and a pleasant end to it is welcomed by me. Bye Moshkiae, happy trails.

Was it Richard Pryor who said in a show that he went to Africa, and those guys were *black*, as in someone in his family must have LIED?

The Irony is, that you British assume all Americans were English at some point.

Yeah, Americans do understand irony.

They just choose to ignore it. Anybody seen Eagly Eye btw? Damn, that computer should have got 'em. It was totally within its rights.

I was recently turned down on my application for an Australian green card, on account of my criminal record.
Now that's ironic.

Hi,

Don't laugh ... one of my favorite trix is to log some information coming into/thru my router and firewall, and if I need to turn it over ...

Had a roomate for 9 years that is a massive admin (over 70k he makes!!!) and he was tough on abuse ... and once put someone in jail for 3 years. Some abuse had come through a chat room (mail type in those days) and the kid would not quit. Being an admin, he just logged everything, made a copy and sent it to the local police office that immediately sent it to the local FBI office.

I keep telling people that your internet connection is no different than the house/apartment that you live in ... it is NOT invisible ... and anyone that thinks they can do anything they want has got to be the stupid'est ... it's no different here.
